    As much as this would seem a good idea, I would still have to say no. A lot of people play games such as these to escape and forgot about such events. That would serve as a reminder in a place that most don't want to be reminded. Also, Eorzea does not parallel our real world and since no such event occurred in-game, it would still be very odd.

    There's what happened at Silvertear, and there's always what will happen in the near future with Black Shroud. Yoshi-P is planning on razing it all down and rebuilding it. :P

    This easily resolves the lore issues.

    Dungeons & Dragons Online has a memorial to Gary Gygax (sp?), the creator of D&D, added shortly after his death. There's a big shrine to him in a graveyard in the game (The graveyard is home to a series of dungeon adventures which he did the Dungeon Master voiceovers for prior to his death).

    I'm not saying that something like that is automatically appropriate here, the Gygax memorial is a nod to the man who made the game possible. The earthquake doesn't really hold major significance to the game itself.
