Maybe try us out, . Your sexuality does not matter one bit, heck I have not heard the word "f*g, gay" in a long time.
I imagine it's just a safe place catered for those groups of people. I personally don't find it a big deal unless they exclude straight people, which doesn't seem likely at all. If silly things like one's gender matter to people, you bet your boots one's sexual orientation matters as well.

Let's be honest, there are a lot that treat males and females differently in games like this. It's really not very much different than how some view straight and gay/bi so yeah, it matters. Maybe not to you, but lot of weird folks out there.

I also hear those same terms near daily. Lol

Thing is, which I don't think many get, that for some it really is as annoying or offensive as using the "N" word. Sure, I don't mind absolute political incorrectness. On the contrary, I enjoy it, among a group of friends, or otherwise trusted people.... but even then I try not to go over the top /shrug.

("Breeders" is too disturbing, unless it's used in a SCI-FI movie or something o___O;;; though that's just my 2¢)

I feel like it's too many "me" and not enough "us" in general with such situations.
Minors shouldn't be playing this game.

Anyway I feel I have made my point. Carry on
The world does not revolve around you. I may like eating cuploads of shit, but because I do so does not mean that everyone else should be fine doing so as well.

Nah it is not a big deal humans are free to do whatever they want so long no harm is done. Just such a shame that I never got to know any LGBT, heck I can't go shout LF LGBT FRIENDS, you meet people, they are either nice or not, regardless of one sexuality.

On the other hand, this thread did give me a bad vibe, I mean "LF friendly LGBT FC or LF FC that likes LGBT" makes it sound that FCs have a problem with LGBT and only few don't. I have been in 4 FCs in this game and never heard anyone even mention LGBT or enquire if anyone is actually LGBT.

If people want to be in full LGBT FC that is up to them, but every other FC that does not advertise about being LGBT friendly is not actually an enemy of LGBT....they just don't care if someone is straight or LGBT.

Being part of a minority tends to make you more perceptive of the inequalities of being that minority. In this case, being LGBT typically means you're the subject of ridicule, insult, and degradation for simply existing with the target always being sexuality.

Also, you've had an LGBT friend in an MMO. You just probably didn't know it. They probably chose not to disclose their sexuality to you or to your guild. I cannot speak to others, but I've chosen to stay "in the closet" in guilds because it's just easier than having to constantly deal with being "the gay guildie."

On the flip side, some LGBT guilds, shells, etc can be really...liberal with their expressions of sexuality, and an LGBT space allows that without having to conflict with personal beliefs of non-LGBT persons. It's both proactive and reactive in nature.

To add onto Cainejw's good post, the "safespace" term can be a very important flag for a lot of people. Many individuals, in the LGBT community especially though it's certainly not unique to them, come from extremely traumatic backgrounds and are looking for a place from which they can take comfort and understanding without fear of someone triggering fears, memories, or other demons in their life. It is very much an emotional and therapeutic support group, as it is a place to hang out with like-minded and friendly allied folk.
