Hello!

This thread is a resource for finding an LGBT community group for those who desire it. Hopefully it will prove to be helpful to anyone looking for such groups, especially those who may not yet feel comfortable enough voicing their desire for such a group in a public forum.

Since there is no forum that covers multi-server linkshell listings, I have to post it here in General Discussion. I ask people to respect the purpose of this thread and leave the debate out of it, please. If you don't like the topic, feel free to add me to your ignore list and move on. If you love the topic, please don't respond to the trolls since it only serves to get the thread locked. I am putting in a request for a multi-server community group forum, so hopefully this can be posted in a more appropriate place eventually.

I've organized the list in three groups:
1. Those which are primarily intended to create a space for LGBT people and their allies
2. Those which are not but have expressly indicated they are LGBT friendly through their charters and policies.
3. Those which have indicated they would like to be on the list but do not specifically mention LGBT or orientation in their charters and anti-discrimination policies.

I've also included a blurb, taken directly from their websites when possible, that indicates their scope and LGBT inclusiveness. Entries are grouped by server, in alphabetical order.

This list received a great response on the Beta forums with nothing but positive energy, so I'm excited to continue it over here on the live forums! Since it will likely fall off the top page, feel free to help advertise it via your signature such as I have done, or link to it however you want.

I actively maintain the list, so if you want to add your linkshell or free company or you want something changed about your entry then please reply and I'll make the changes. Please provide a website or link to a recruitment post when requesting to be added. Having a link helps people find you, helps me figure out where to put you in the list based on the content of your link, and allows me to follow up every so often to make sure your group is still active. I will no longer be accepting entries without some form of link. If you are attempting to contact a group and they appear defunct, please let me know as well so I can confirm and update their entry.

not trying to start a fight hear try to be civil and take the high road people we can have a discussion without getting angry about it. that being said I believe that the reason for this list is not to step on any toes for people who are uncomfortable being around LGBT people. personally I believe you should assume that people will be nice to you until they prove themselves to be jerks but that's just me I don't believe in seperation.

Some people have been harassed in game or treated badly about their sexual orientation, or gender. If a guild states that they are LGBT friendly it just means they can be a safe and positive environment for someone to play in. Not a big deal, and it doesn't really affect anyone.

Wow I clicked this thread because I was impressed that there was a directory for LGBT friendly linkshells and free companies, and all I see are people getting really miffed because "oh no teh gheys want a safe group of people to play with"? Wow, what an accepting community. A solid reminder to never mention my sexual orientation or gender identity lest I get harassed.
