Whats the point of headstart for EU players?

For those that can't play until 8-10pm due to servers being full, what is the point of headstart?

I think we are due some serious compensation when not able to play because we DID pay to get headstart. Not to only be allowed to get into character creation.

That is is the game is even worth to play. It does not look that way, I played since start of 1.0 and quit due to lack of progress on 1.0. I came back because I thought it would be different, but it does not look good.

What on earth did people smoke thinking FF14 would be the exception to have a perfect launch?

Just wish the mods could just show their presence a bit more, I'm sure it would ease some players minds.

I played RIFT, had not even close to these issues, it was smooth launch
I played Neverwinter, nothing like these issues, they added servers as there was more ppl.

So... your wrong... and this is totally unacceptable, EU have 6 servers and NE 20 and JP have 25. That sounds like prudent planning?

I agree, for the most part. But expecting the servers to be up for more than 1/3 of the day is hardly expecting a perfect launch.

Now I'm confused.

If what is being said is true about how when Rift launched internationally, they suffered no critical issues is true, then a lot of people's arguments, including my own are invalidated.

That would mean servers in modern day MMOs, should never have issues. This would make sense considering that the technology for servers must have changed since the days of WoW.

However, I would need to look up the launches of various MMOs to come to that conclusion. Assuming the hardware for the servers for everyone is the same, why are the JP servers still working when ours aren't?

Though I didn't expect much from the launch, I must say I'm very disappointed by the fact, that EU is lacking servers, and it's really BAD.

If we don't get more servers at the launch next week, this is gonna end up like WoW back in the days, where you pay for a full month, but get to play only after waiting in line for up to several hours.

More servers would maybe make the launch smoother, and I hope they get that fixed within the next 2 days, or I'll not pay for a subscription after the current 30 days are over.

I seem to remember Rift having 6 hour queues and lots of server downtimes to fix problems. Lets not even mention what happened with the world event. >.>;;;;

That was not that way for servers in Europe at least. You are the first person I heard even saying that. Everyone I spoken with have all have good experience with launch of RIFT.

Compensation for what again? You didn't pay for Early Access. Early Access is a bonus given to Legacy players or players who pre-ordered 2.0. A bonus. They didn't have to have one at all.

I hate to bash, but you my ill informed friend are incorrect....
Early access was a part of the price for pre ordering so no matter how you look at it we did pay.

And as far as Rift goes for NA believe me the Queues were for hours server lag / crashes all day however they fixed this within the first 48 hrs when they had maintenace you could feel the difference. And the Dev/MoDs kept everyone informed very well with detailed information.

SE has yet to show that anything theyve been working on since early access has done anything to improve anything. And they dont keep anyone informed until hours later and even then its basically copy and paste asking for our patience.
