    1.0 non-legacy + ARR preorder (44 days free?)

So here's the deal, I was like 1 month of payed time away from getting legacy on 1.0 (boo).

I get 14 days free for ARR, I get that part, I don't get EA, I also understand that.

If I preorder ARR right now, do I get 44 free days including the free 14 days from ARR, or does it override my 14 days? If it's the latter, and I wait 14 days to put in my preorder code, wouldn't that mean it counts after the 14 days and give me an extra 30 on top of it?

Trying to figure out if it's worth it for me to preorder because I really hate waiting 3 more days to be able to play D: plus I don't want my friends server to become unavailable before I can make a character.

You can still get early access if you pre-order the PS3 version I believe. The pre-order code isn't linked to the free month of game time. All it will give you is the early access from 24-30.

Starting the 27th, I'm assuming your 1.0 14 days will kick in.

After those 14 days, you can then register the copy of the game you pre-ordered (provided it is the PS3 version) and then get a free 30 days from that.

That is my understanding, at least.

So, there are 3 items you're getting mixed up, lets separate them:

    3 days Early Access (24th-26th)
    14 day "welcome back campaign"
30 day subscription for registering ARR

Right now as a 1.0 account, you qualify for the 14 day welcome back.

If you were to pre-order any version of ARR, you could use the code to gain early access.

If you purchase a PC version of the game, you CANNOT add it to your current account, there can be only 1 FFXIV PC account on a given Square Enix service account. The solution to this would be to purchase the PS3 version of the game. If you purchase it from a retail store, you will receive a Preorder code which you can actually redeem for PC early access (people on the forums have done this). If you purchase it from the PSN network directly, you will not be given a Preorder code, but simply have the PS3 early access added to your account.

So to summarize, if you preordered:
The PC version, you'd get Early Access, and 14 days free
The PS3 version, you'd get Early Access, 14 days free, THEN ANOTHER 30 days free.

Damn that sucks, I feel kinda shafted as a 1.0er but meh whatever...

Not going to spend an extra 15 bucks for 3 days of early access :/ thanks for pointing that out to me though.

You can always preorder somewhere online and get sent the code, then cancel the preorder.

I pre-ordered the game to get the bonus items for pre-ordering. I own the 1.0 CE so I will be getting the new CE items as well. I used the pre-order bonus on my account and I am giving the game to a sibling so they can play.

I didn't really care about the 30 free days, 14 free was good enough for me...heck when I pre-ordered the game there was no 14 free welcome back campaign yet so it didn't bother me.
