    Need help clarifying about starting classes

    I'm pretty new to this game and there are so many classes and jobs to choose.

    So I'm wondering, if I picked a class to start with and, after rolling with it for awhile, come to realize that I don't really like it much. Can I just stop playing the class at all and change to the other ones?

    Yes yes, I know I can only change class after Lv.10. I'm just worry about restrictions, if there is ones, like we can't level up the other classes higher the starting one or something like that.

    Your starting class determines 2 things, which class you must level up to 10 first, and what your starting city is. Beyond that, there are no restrictions, you may leave your first class at 10, and level up every other class to 50 just fine if you were so inclined.

    Also, be aware that you only get airship transport starting after a lvl 15 story quest. If the next class you're interested in is in another city, you might have to spend some time walking to whatever city that has your class or buying the lvl1 weapon from the auction houses (which will be much more expensive than they're actually worth).

    I don't expect it to be a major problem, but it's something to consider if you're prioritizing a role.

    Just rent a chocobo at level 10 map out your path before you head out if you plan on trekking (I started in Uldah and marched to Gridania at level 10) took me 10-15mins on Chocoback + walking. When you reach the city's first area go to chocokeep and ride it to the main town But I advise against this, it becomes annoying for a little while having to start in a different town than your main class

    If you start in Limsa Lominsa I think you're pretty much locked in until you get the airship. The ferry didn't seem to work until after you got your airship pass.

    I explored the world as much as possible from UL'DAH and it does take time and a lot of walking and at times running from foes. ..but yes i agree the level 15 air ship is very important to remember in picking classes. thank goodness for them. and the long distance ferrries do appear to be disabled for lower levels at this point.
