Script error still (in launcher client)

Although I am happy that the user agreement page has been changed to I dont get the script error on there anymore... it is still happening on the news/updates pages however.

HTML Parsing Error: Unable to modify the parent container element before the child element in closed.

Please can SE update the launcher so it doesnt do this, or provide me a work-around? Thanks.

Yes it runs as admin by default since P4.
Not sure what the parent/child thing is. I dont do anything out of the ordinary. Before now it was just upon launching the client for the first time and now its when I click a link for a news article at the bottom left. Doesnt display any of the article just that error.

Hmm. Just looked this up on Microsoft website.

HTML parsing error - The easiest way to avoid this error is to install Internet Explorer 8. You can download the installer for Internet Explorer 8 from here: (Link removed)

Oh here we go if that does not work try this.

Try the following steps.



1.In internet explorer window click on Tools.
2.On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3.On the Security tab, select the zone the site loads under.
4.Click on Custom level bottom.
1.Scroll down to the Scripting section, and set the Active Scripting to Disabled - prevents scripts or to Prompt - prompts user to run or not to run scripts.
2.Click OK.



If the above method does not solve your issue try following the method provided below.



Reset your internet explorer settings and run it. You can do this by following the steps given below.

If the problem is caused by damaged or incompatible Internet Explorer settings or add-ons, you can usually resolve the problem by resetting Internet Explorer settings.

To use the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature from Control Panel, follow these steps:

1. Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer (if it is running).

2. If you use Windows XP, click Start, and then click Run. Type the following command in the Open box, and then press ENTER:

inetcpl.cpl

If you use Windows Vista, click Start Collapse this imageExpand this image . Type the following command in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER:

inetcpl.cpl

The Internet Options dialog box appears.

3. Click the Advanced tab.

4. Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset. Then click Reset again.

5. When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box.

6. Start Internet Explorer again.

Thsi will involve downlaoding internet explorer, I think I might faint. XD But thanks I'll get onto that now.

Now getting this:
Cannot launch FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. Cookies and JavaScript must be
enabled under Internet Options. To do so, please carry out the following steps:

1) Open Internet Options.
2) Click the Security tab, then the Custom Level button.
3) Set Active Scripting to Enable.
4) Click the Privacy tab, then the Default button (if available).
5) Click OK.

Shut down FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.



SORT IT OUT SE I DO NOT WANT INTERNET EXPLORER!
