Beta characters dont get bonus items?

So I read on SE support site the following.
* The in-game bonus item will only apply to the FINAL FANTASY XIV service account which you have registered the code to.
* Please be advised that if you have already created a character prior to entering the code for the in-game bonus item, the item will not be available. The item can only be used by characters created after you have entered the code for the corresponding item.
That says to me characters created in the beta don't receive the items. Learn me to read if it says otherwise.

Wow...this wording is really bad...based on that it sounds like you're right but I'm pretty sure everyones getting the pre order items if they apply the code...Through the Mog mail I believe

I imagine that if this is true, it will be corrected quickly. I'm sure a lot of people will also be pissed, if they have the collector's edition like myself and we also don't get our mount, pet and armour for other mount. However the items themselves don't give a boost, but still they can easily enable the system to send the items to the existing character. We will just wait and see
