Just some information for anyone looking for it.

I am a non legacy 1.0 player. I chose to pre-order standard edition, and use the digital update service being offered later to upgrade to CE.

My 1.0 account is considered "Europe and other regions" meaning pre-ordering from GMG was the best option. I placed the order, received a pre-order code and some instructions. I followed these, and was taken to a site to convert my pre-order code into a Early access code. I then used this code on the EU early access site.

No problems at all. Applied first go, no arguments, and i was able to patch the client last night. Patch was just on 1gig. It means i have a spare copy of the game which i am sure i can gift on.
