Nice to see the direct communication finally. 4pm JST is 4am EST? Hopefully it'll be fixed, like actually fixed, later in the morning this time.
Thanks for posting this! Glad to have a timeframe for the next maintenance finally.
Thanks for this. It means everyone should go to bed, including myself.
I'm glad they're working through this too, but at the same time I can't help but feel that they didn't have some idea of how many people who would be playing.
People who pre-ordered say today or in the past two days are most likely the minority, other than those people, they should have had numbers of pre-orders and people with legacy accounts. I mean I'd at least think they knew how many pre-ordered (gaining EA) and how many legacy accounts are out there to fill up the servers. I can't imagine that say 10% of the players who just now pre-ordered are overflowing the servers, unless they wanted to wait last minute to up capacity..
Oh well, the game will be lovely once the game actually works right.
The issue, Tazila, is that it's unreal to presume all of those people will STAY.
And if they make a giant bloat of servers, they will invariably later end up with a bunch of ghost servers and have to merge... That is even more damaging, because everyone sees server merges as the sign of a dieing game.
It's a lose-lose situation here
Well they took 2 game populations (legacy + preorders) and mashed them together. Of course problems will arise in a situation like this, but we need to keep cool heads. We could all benefit from some sleep and this maintenance will provide the time to do just that. I hope to see the game working as intended after I catch some zzz's.
That's true. The issue, Tazila, is that it's unreal to presume all of those people will STAY.

In /sh chat, people are going "Well then quit playing if you don't like the fact you can't do duties!" and the response is "YES PLEASE QUIT SO THE REST OF US CAN DO DUTIES!"
It really is a lose/lose situation, there will be people who quit because of this, but I don't think they'll be quitting in the next few days. Probably log on and off to see if they can do something, and then go about their business, until they either give up hoping it'll get better or it does get better and they can play.
Tbqh, I had a better playing experience in beta 4 than I am right now, but I'll just be patient. =]
