Landmarks, Dead End's, Beastmen and Raptors (Vid's included)

So I now have the ability to record and have been playing with it a bit and thought I would share some vid's I have made on my travels to hopefully show a few things you might not have seen.

So there are various obvious landmarks dotted around Eorzea but they serve absolutely no purpose at the minute as far as I can tell. Here is an example of two that I have come across and there are many more scattered around, but there is no interaction at all with most of them. They must of put them there for a reason:

And then there are also the annoying invisible wall dead ends, what is being hidden away from view? I like to explore but I don't like running into a invisible wall for my trouble.

Also we need a lot more of these Beastmen wandering around of all level's as I feel fighting Sheep, Dodo's and Puk's is not preparing me enough to fight off the Garlean Empire.

Lastly here's 2 vid's of our little Raptor party the other day to show any lower level players what they can look forward to when they get there or for anyone who hasn't done one yet.

I would just like to mention that Raptor parties are still pretty boring. Not exactly something to look forward to. If anything, I would have linked a NM fight video

I like your vids and can't wait til I can exact revenge on those pesky raptors myself. Out of curiosity what sort of rig do you have and what program did you record the videos with. I never get that high of quality.

There are loads of hidden walls and gates for closed off areas. There is one southeast of Halatali, one north of Halatali (may lead to the same dungeon some day), one near Silent Arbor (39,44) in Shroud and another north of Wyrmking's Perch (17,10) in Coerthas. I'm sure there's more however.

For landmarks, those towers producing blue fog north of Camp Bluefog are interesting, so is those ruins far north of Treespeak. I've not came across much of interest in La Noscea unfortunately.

Here's a pic of the ruins north of Treespeak.

My guess is this and the Bluefog towers are used in story missions 50+ considering the ranks of the mobs near them. But who knows?

I actually have a youtube channel myself that's dedicated to this exact same purpose. ^^ Glad to see some one else had the same idea.
Exploration, and the hunting of various high level prey that Eorzea has to offer.

Wow, very nice and interesting videos there. Thanks for sharing

Also Endemerrin ones are pretty nice.

We should have a sub-forum for these kind of things *hint for mods* :0

I actually think that raptors parties are pretty fun (while a little monotonous, since people from 40 onwards often refuse to try any other monster). They're fast paced, and pretty challenging due to the mechanics of the monster (they require a certain degree of awareness that's normally not included in normal grind monsters in other MMORPGs), their aggro is quite volatile if the tank isn't on the ball, and as a tank that's another thing I can appreciate.
Much, much better than the usual "chose a camp, and stand there for hours while a puller serves the mobs to you" grinding, so yeah, I do think that raptors are something to look forward to, with measure.
