Unable to update patch files.

Im getting this error everytime i try to run the laucher... It downloads the ffxivboot.exe, then he tries (i think) to patch up it, then, the error occurs...
I already tried to run as administrator and disable my firewall and my antivirus...
Anyone knows how to fix it ?

Hi,

It seems that the launcher can't overwrite this specific file (ffxivboot.exe).
Try to delete this file in the folder of the game (first close the game process or restart your computer) and retry to launch the update.

Antivirus Browser Protection, might be the course, heard of BullGuard & ZoneAlarm coursing issues (Other AV's might also be affected), turn off the Browser Protection, not the Antivirus, the Browser Protection.

Try going into the boot directory listed in the error and unblock the .exes. I choose to do them all to prevent future errors (hopefully). Simply right click on the .exe (i.e. ffxivboot.exe) and select Unblock from the menu at the bottom. Worked for me but now the patcher stalls at 140/150mb so still working on that.

If you are admin, then you would not need to unlock/unsecure that folder. If you are not the admin, login to the admin and right click the SquareEnix folder and go to the security area, and add everybody and mark for full access. Then go back into your normal user.

If you are an admin already, then it as stated above, anti-virus or anti-malware or firewall program could be holding it up. I know each time the patcher changes I have to confirm my anti-virus program to allow it to load up. I would say add the EXE's from the SquareEnix folder to the exception list in your program. That should do it. Some programs are better with games than others.

End all - uninstall the game and redo the installer program that redoes the patcher and then relaunch the patcher. That is if you were able to run the game already in P4, it's the same client with a patched patcher. You would have to redownload the game, but it most likely would clear your issue of an uninstall/reinstall.

Admin or not the security feature of Win 7 automatically blocks downloaded .exes but I'm too lazy to source the Micro$oft article. I've just had to do it in many games so I passed this advice on

Not correct, It blocks them so long as they are marked with the attribute for a downloaded file, and this is only if the file is downloaded directly through a web browser. The 106MB client installer for instance.

It would not, however, mark the files downloaded by the launcher with the downloaded attribute.

If those receiving the issue, continue to do so. I suggest grabbing Process Monitor and filtering it by the launchers activities (Filter by Process name is ffxivlauncher.exe) and then save it as a native PML format for analysing.

Probably wouldn't host them anywhere public though, just in case the logged info somehow includes the UN/PW. (though i've never seen these in a ProcMon dump before)

Well, i cant delete the file, because he's the "launcher" of the game... if i delete it, i cant open the downloader...
I'm using the P4 beta client... It will update itself ? or i have to download the game again ? If i need to, where's the download link ?

EDIT: i turned off my antivirus, with all his modules off and it didnt updated
