Do 1.0 owners get early access? Or even get to play at all?

I have the hard copy of FF14 1.0 collectors, and I haven't received any information on if I am able to get early access. I don't know if I am able to play ARR because there is little to no information about this topic. I have seen the bonus items that I qualify for and it is nice, but I just want to be able to play the game.

I am seriously considering just re-buying the game because I feel that I wont be able to play the game, I tried to subscribe but the site does not have anything for that either. Can anyone give me some information on what I am suppose to do to play ARR? I would think that the people that supported FF14 from the get go would have top priority, but it seems SE cares more about sales than taking care of their supporters.

I really wish the FF14 ARR site was actually useful. It is the worst website for any MMO I have ever played because you get lost in it and can't ever find out simple things. I found that 1.0 owners were to have a date when they could play, but 1 day before early access there is still no information. IF SQUARE-ENIX CARES ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS THEY NEED TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS! Multiple E-mails about this issue are always unresolved with generic replies.

Only if you were legacy, or purchased the ARR collectors edition you would get early access. Just having the 1.0 means you get the free download of ARR for release date.

Clarifying: If you purchased the Collector's Edition of 1.0 you do not get Early Access, unless you were "Legacy" and purchasing the ARR Collector's Edition does not grant you early access.... you must PRE-ORDER the game to get early access, and since you have the 1.0 Collector's Edition, you would not need to buy the Collector's Edition of ARR. You will automatically get the digital Collector's items.

You don't get early access.
You only get early access if:
- You're legacy player (check that in account management, you will have icon near FF XIV service if you're)
- Pre-ordered 2.0
You will be able to play for free stating 27.08 till 09.09 though if you owned 1.0. You also get all in-game items of 2.0 CE.

We are pleased to announce that Early Access for FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn will begin on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 2:00 a.m. (PDT)!

* Participants of Early Access are eligible to play straight into official service, which will begin on Tuesday, August 27, 2013.
* Those who have either registered a pre-order code or fulfilled the requirements for Legacy status are eligible to participate in Early Access.
* The game client from Beta Test phase 4 (open beta test) can also be used as the game client for Early Access. You do not need to uninstall the Beta Test phase 4 client and install anything else.

Alright that clarifies things pretty good. I never saw anything about being able to or not. Now I just have to decide if I want to spend the money to play this weekend and Monday lol. I assume you get the two in game items for pre-ordering as well then.

yes. you get the two in game items for pre-ordering. but if you don't feel like paying for the game, just take a few dollars, pre-order it at gamestop and use the code. pre-order is not a commitment to buying the game.
