Twas the night before early access, and all through these posts
Every player was stirring, and Legacy would boast!
The servers were ready and the dev. team prepared,
In hopes that Yoshi-P soon would be there.
The fanboys were nestled all snug by their PCs,
While others got comfy with the ol’ PS3.
And Soken with his music, and Ferne with his lore,
knew they’d done all they could (though players always want more!)
And then in Japan, there arose such a clatter,
as the servers went live, nothing else mattered.
Away to my PC I flew like a flash,
logged on to ARR, for an Eorzean bash.
The grass was near perfect on my monitor screen,
and 3102 was a problem unseen.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a bow-harp like weapon, and a miqote’s white hair.
It was the minstrel who wandered, so lively was he,
I knew in a moment it must be Yoshi -P.
More rapid than eagles his community team came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
"Now Camate! now, Bayohne! now, Hivinre and Foxclon!
On, Okipuit! On, Gildrein! on, on Triairy we’re all on!
To the forest, Gridania! To the city, Ul’dah!
Even Limsa gets a visit! We’ll see one and all!”
As the giants who rebuilt a bad game from scratch,
When they met with an obstacle, gave us more than a patch.
So up to the challenge the dev. team they flew,
With the game full of fun, and Yoshida too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard my /tell tone,
As my friends all logged on, into each starting zone!
As I danced with excitement and abounded with glee,
Someone sent me an invite, to my Free Company.
We were dressed in old armor, though it shone just like new,
and our weapons and relics gleamed brilliantly too.
Then we looked to the sky and saw Dalamud was gone,
the calamity passed, had we righted all wrongs?
I played into the morning as I searched for the answers,
immersed in adventure and geared up on Lancer.
then I silently thanked those who’d worked so damn hard,
SE and the Dev team, and a special spoony bard!
The coffee and cigarettes he’d consumed on sleepless nights,
were all just for us, as he made sure it was right.
The live letters and posts showed us he cared,
and as we played through the beta, there was no need to be scared.
Then he sprang to his office, to his team an e-mail sent,
And back to work they all flew, preparing more content.
But I heard him exclaim, and post on the forum,
“Have fun in Final Fantasy: A realm reborn!”
