I agree with Cendres. I would have hated if they did a Japan release only. It's nice the option to play if we want instead of hear about it, not to mention it is free.

I'd bet anything you've never lived in another country before for an extended period of time. You stink of ignorance.I feel that SE should have released FFXIV in Japan only like they did with the FFXIV release. There are 2 benefits - firstly, they would have a player base who provides constructive criticism whereas the Americans are known for whining. Secondly, if it fails in Japan only, then the reputational damage is not as bad as a global release.
Funny cause after reading the JP forums it would seem we whine equally and about the same things. They are just more respectful and mire organized instead of 10 separate threads all discussing the best way to wrangle a chocobo.
Translation: I fail to see your point.

Cool thread, bookmarking for future enlightenment should I stray from the correct path.
Lol Yugon, yeah, i wonder where i bought my copy here in Spain too.
Now, picture this, EU players buying through the net as old XI and using NA accounts. Because if anyone wondered... NA account costed 12,95$ in monthly fee and EU is 12,95€. OH WAIT! € & $ doesn't have the same value!!
They should've spent more time in Alpha.
They should've spent more time in Beta, etc, etc.
Too bad we can't go back in time and fix that, such a shame, guess we're going to just fix what's in the present, etc. Besides, I really would rather they just stick with simultaneous release, rather than making it initially Japan only. With the name Final Fantasy, that sort if idea wouldn't fly really well as it did back then.
Besides, even if they did stick with Japanese only. How many people would try to get into the game, and we would still have a lot of complaining and problem on our hands...just not as much as we see now. Personally I'd rather not see the repeat of history that FFXi suffered because Japan had a year headstart ahead of us.
