    /sigh post limit

I know this horse has already been beaten into a bloody pile of goo but, obviously, it still needs attention because nothing has changed.

They make beautiful games, but SE puts absolutely no value in customer support, and their official forums are yet another broken branch of that tree.
(We won't get into the other branches right now, but the whole tree seems to have heart rot.)

I'm sure no one wants unnecessary spam in the forums, but this EXTREME limit on posting is just ridiculous. Again, it boils down to SE not wanting to actually deal with its player base outside the realm of actually playing their games.
They can't be bothered to have some decent moderation, rather, they just implement a system where everyone is highly discouraged to even bother starting a conversation, because they can't continue it to it's natural end.

This limit stifles the community a great deal. When I'm unable to play, out of the house, or whatever the circumstance, I enjoy chatting on the forums. I'd love to share my thoughts on crafting or my favorite jobs, and get into a conversation or debate about anything I find interesting...but the limit stops conversations dead, rather than letting them die naturally. I don't even want to join a topic of conversation at this point...so I guess SE's work is done.

And I know a lot of you are totally for the post limit, but I don't get your reasoning. You're part of an active community of gamers, there should be an active forum to go along with it. The solution to spam/trolling/flamers isn't to stifle everyone who may want to join the community.

There are a LOT of video game forums out there that can keep their members in line without the use of such limitations. Why is a multi-million dollar company having to resort to such tactics to do it?

Moderate the forums properly, SE. That is it. If you're cheap about it, get community mods. I assure you, there will be a LOT of people who will volunteer. And just keep them in line with your current staff of [the dude that checks in for 10 minutes every day], or whatever you have going back there.

Sorry for taking up your time. Until the post limit is removed, I won't be back. (Good riddance, I know. You don't have to say it.)

    EDIT:

Well it doesn't. So yeah, the limit is pointless.
If people are talking about any single subject so much, then SE should probably wonder whether it needs looking into, not be ignored.

No offense to you at all OP. But I will use you as an example here.
See? The post limit topics or posts have been talked about at least 5 times on these forums.
And people were saying how "This stops people from spamming the forums with the same thing."
Well it doesn't. So yeah, the limit is pointless. I agree with you 100%.
