Does buying the CE upgrade for a 1.0 account give Early Access?

I haven't done anything yet to my 1.0 account. I played beta. I was told I can't join early access? If I upgrade to the CE will that grant me early access? Or am I just screwed.

You can't upgrade your account to CE until start of service so no :-/

You need to pre-order the game and use the code given unless you have a Legacy account.

Digital upgrade isn't a pre-order, so no, that won't work for Early Access. If you own a 1.0 service account, you need to pre-order the PS3 version, which will link to your service account. I think you could also pre-order a PC version, but you can't link the registration codes to a previous 1.0 service account, you have to make a new account. The whole thing is incredibly complex and convoluted. SE always does a great job in over-complicating things like this.

Sort of a followup: I have a 1.0 CE account, but did not sub long enough to get Legacy status.

I have pre-ordered the standard edition and added the code to my account so I can play in Early access. Will I be able to add my code from the ARR Standard edition purchase to this account to get the free 30 days, or will I not be able to as I already have the full game?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but from my understanding, unless you're creating a new Service Account, which with you'll use your registration code, then no, you can't add the registration to an existing Service Account. This is under the assumption that you bought a PC version of ARR. If you bought a PS3 version, then yes, you can add the code to your current Service Account.

Since I can't make a thread yet, I wanted to ask you knowledgeable folks a question regarding the CE digital upgrade.
I've been trying to upgrade to CE for over 2months cause I like a hard copy of my game but all store that sell games in my area havnt had any to sell for preorder for that entire time. So I'm wondering is the CE upgrade just avaliable to pc 1.0 characters or just pc in general? My game is bought so have my preorder and have been set up for EA for a while but don't wanna buy digital CE on ps3 cause as I said I prefer a hard disk for the game so would I be able to pay the 20$ to get the upgrade on my ps3 or is my only option buying the CE digital? Please and thank you for your time answering my question.

Just remember that the digital upgrade doesn't include all they physical goodies (art book/security token/etc.), it only grants the in-game bonus items. You'll be able to upgrade later, probably when the game goes live. The physical CE for ARR have been sold out for a long time, unfortunately.
