Is the level cap 50 or level 70, just I am seeing lot of references to lv70 gear, was so sure 50 was the cap.

Character Level is 50. Items can have levels above that but limited to that level maximum for equipping.

Your level cap is 50, but your item level cap can rise above.

The reason for this is you have tiers of level 50 content. So once you've reached cap you start off with high level dungeons, graduate to the Hard Primals, the Hard Dungeons, and then you get to fight the Extreme Primals and the Extreme dungeons.

For each level, you need a higher level gear. That's why you have different levels of gear available to capped characters.

yep the lvl cap is 50 but item levels can go above that
