So even with the naming conventions threads, things can get a little hairy and it is easy to overlook all the little bits of language differences between the races. So I thought this thread would be fun for those who aim for those conventions (even those who only recently switched to that with legacy renaming or new characters).

So my character is a Seawolf Roegadyn named Blaetrot Pfarskoefsyn. Yeah, it should be Blaetrhot, but it was too many characters unfortunately lol.

Here is my idea on how to pronounce it:

Given that Roegadyn is based on Old High Germanic, I'd say using the German setting on Google Translate as you did is as close as you'll get. Sounds pretty good to me, and I like this thread idea.

I've previously done some thought on this for my own names, though I've tried using IPA symbols rather than approximate audio samples (and JP kana as close as I can too, since IPA is confusing/unfamiliar to most). Not all the names are according to lore, and some really don't need an extra guide but I've done so anyways.

Thanks OP! I never though of using the pronunciation feature of Google translate to check my Seawolf pronunciation. My character is Waekswys Styrmwyn (I cheated on the last name - used only 1 word as her father's name instead of two to reduce the length lol) and the German pronunciation sounds exactly like I though it should.
