Server not responding

First off this is not for me, but for a buddy so I can only give info that was given me.

It comes up server not responding and asking him to link accounts (ps3).

He already linked the accounts from the website and its still asking, when it decides to come up at all.

At first I chalked this upto server congestion but its been going on for beta4 and now early access, and he is losing faith entirely and about to cancel his preorder if this doesn't get working.

Anything that can be done?

Make sure your friend does not have any old ffxiv game data on his PS3. I've read that some people have old data installed and this can cause issues.

It might be worth wiping it entirely and downloading it again, just to rule it out.

Also restart the router (if he hasn't already tried this).
