CE worth the $20

Ok, I'm about to preorder the game on the PS Store for PS3 after playing the beta I liked what I saw. But without playing 1.0 and not knowing to much of the smaller details of the game I was wondering if the 4 items you get in the CE version are really worth the extra $20 (the helm of light, baby behemoth minion, coequal mount and behemoth boarding) For example are these items things I am really going to want to use or are they just mainly for appearances?

It's great for bragging rights plus if you would like to ride something other than a chocobo it's a good place to start! It's really just based on preference and if you want items you may never be able to get again, for me it's so worth it!

As far as $20.00 value goes:

In most games with Mounts and Cash Shops:
Mounts ~$15-25
Pets (Minions) ~$10-20
Helms ~$5
Gear Sets ~$10-20

The Barding is a set of 3 pieces, hence listing it as a gear set. So if you were to price-out each item separately you'd be spending around $40.00-70.00 for the items. Don't forget that you get these items on each and every one of the characters you create, thus if you redeem them multiple times, you save yourself even more.

The items really do not give you an advantage in doing anything. The helm slightly until your level 5 and get a better helm.
They are mostly cosmetic which allows you to look different then the standard account.
They probably give you credit towards some type of achievement, like 1 more pet to your collection or something to make you 1 pet closer to your goal.

If looking good, collecting things, and doing every possible achievement you can is your type of thing..then ya...$20 is probably worth it.
If you are the type of person that doesn't need everything then you need to determine if it makes you feel good enough to spend the $20.

I don't frequent cash shops in any "free" game so this is a surprise to me, man 10-15 bucks for a pet that does nothing but follow you? And here I was finding it hard to spend 2k gil to get one lol

I played Wizard101 for 2 years... until they released the Pet Pavilion expansion a year and a half ago, yes, people were spending up to $20.00 for some of the rarest pets that you could farm from a High-level, Low Drop-Rate boss. And all these things would give you access to was maybe 1 spell card / duel added into your deck... With the Pet Pavilion expansion, they made it so you could 'level' your pets up and the pets could give you bonuses like extra health, the pet may interrupt the battle and cast something, give you higher resist or damage, etc.

Wizard101 is a F2P/B2P/P2P hybrid game, where you can either play with your default 'free' zones, buy more areas with an In-game currency bought for real money (Crowns), or pay a subscription to have access to the entirety of the game during your subscription window.

I don't think paying more than $5 for fake digital items is worth it, but I want that mount, barding, and helm...

So that makes me a dirty hypocrite and IDGAF.

Now another question, does buying digital still get me the first 30 days free? Should have asked that before the purchase

To be honest with you, I like nothing of the CE in-game items. I only like Moogle hat and Cait Sith.
Lmao. I only like the physical items. Can't wait to it ships!
