Who else is planning to take their time?

I'll be half rushing, half not there, half exploring and half actually reading CSs. (If you total that up, yes you make 2. *specs adjust* However if you hate math, it's just 4 halves!)
I take everything at my own pace, and it's different every day. I fairly moody without being what you might call emo. The best part is being able to talk with my long lost LS mates. (After all we were floating in the ether for 5 year)

Not going to make a mad dash, and I plan to enjoy the story fully, but I still want to move along at a reasonable pace. Granted, I get sidetracked easily...

I hate rushing through games...I take my time, plan things out & explore. I'm excited, & I'm playing with my boyfriend & he explores too. We won't always be together (in game) but we'll be in the same room much of the time. (& we're on vacation from now until next friday!)

I'm gonna finish up where I left off in the Beta (trying to get my chocobo and join a GC), and after that I'm gonna take it easy and spend a bit of time working on my Alchemist. Plus, I really want to try and pay attention to the finer details in cutscenes and the story, as there were a few neat touches I missed in Phase 3 and noticed in Phase 4. For those who didn't take notice...

*Alphinaud and Alisaie--the Elvaan twins from the intro--can be seen walking in the background during a cutscene at the Adventurer's Guild.
*The adventurers outside of Satasha are seen again in the cutscene after completing Tam-Tara Deepcroft, and you meet Conjurer of their group after completing Copperbell Mines.
*The adventurers you meet after completing Satasha can be found outside of the Tam-Tara Deepcroft, and one of the two NPCs outside of Copperbell Mines will talk about them.

It's this sort of stuff I like in games, and I'm looking forward to finding more of it

I will take my sweet time exploring every single aspects of this game. I used to go for world firsts in WOW, but I did notice that I always blew through the game so quickly, and had to wait months and months for new content to release. That became really boring so when I tried XIV 1.0 for the first time, I had a much more fun time reading the storyline questtexts and explore

I have a friend who's pure p*ssed off because he wasn't able to take advantage of phase 4 to the fullest. And i Had to hear him cry about it.

Simple question is, "What are you missing?" Everyone is heading in the same direction in this game. What are the benefits of being 1st?

I explained to him even if you took 2 weeks off, you wouldn't be 1st. There are people that still live at home with parents, or on unemployment who are going to dedicate 20 of the 24 hours in a day to push and grind to server 1st.

What is that all for? What do you achieve or get by being the 1st.

The answer is nothing really. It's a mindset. Some people are overly competitive to a fault. Even if the goal isn't in their interest at all, they need to be 1st.

Its a personality. I can't comprehend it. But I accept it. Would be boring if everyone in the world was like myself.

You cannot make someone understand and comprehend your own point of view, as in what do you achieve by being 1st. That's their source of entertainment from the game.

I get distracted so easily that it's hard for me not to take it easy through the game! It'll probably be quite a while before I get anything to 50 and I'm good with that!
