"Simply sublime."

Why are there so few Hellsguard? Is it because of the nose? They are so charming.
Not even in-game NPCs have that many Hellsguards compared to Seawolves. Is it a lore thing or just general preference?

I think Lorewise the majority of their race reside in their volcanic homeland, the one's who travel out into the world are part of a long standing tradition that enter mercenary work when they come of age.
Meanwhile the Limsa region is dominantly made up of Sea Wolves due to their pirating past in that region though the actual race originates elsewhere.
Hellsguard are scattered. No real homeland. Mostly mountainous origins. I see most Hellsguard NPC's in Ul'dah.I think Lorewise the majority of their race reside in their volcanic homeland, the one's who travel out into the world are part of a long standing tradition that enter mercenary work when they come of age.

Lorewise Hellsguard is really rare, most take up mercenary work where they can otherwise they typically stay out of sight. They have about as much revelance as most Au Ra do right now.

Compared to other areas, lorewise, Hellsguard has quite a presence in Ul'dah.... Even one of the syndicate members is a Hellsguard (Fyrgeiss, the Head of Amajina & Sons Mineral Concerns)... We also have Redolent Rose as the Master of Weaver Guild, who's believed as the best designer in Eorzea...
Speaking of which, I used to be a Hellsguard when I was starting up, then I got a free Fantasia, and decided to try a Sea Wolves with lore-friendly name ^^

Meditating on the chapel grounds.
Even though Collective Unconscious is a bit awkward to use as a channeled ability, to me it "feels" powerful because of its animation. As if your character really has to focus instead of just flinging a spell onto the ground.
