I wish the black noses weren't Hellsguard exclusive, I mean Galka had them in FFXI and they had Sea Wolf skin colouration. Even Solkzagyl has the nose and he's a Sea Wolf!

Hellsguard are clearly the closest to a bear's kind of bear that you can bear to get, if you can bear with it.

Even Solkzagyl has the nose and he's a Sea Wolf!

He's an exception to the rule, honestly.

If you fiddle around with the character creator, you'll realize that he's actually using a Hellsguard model... yet he runs around with a Sea Wolf name. The fact he's considered a Sea Wolf as well also has me believing he was either mislabeled or that Square-Enix goofed up. That skin color, however, is pure Sea Wolf.

He may honestly be unique due to the fact he's using the customization options of two separate clans in a single character.

Pretty much this. I've always assumed someone derped during his creation. I don't know why they didn't just make him a full Hellsguard to be honest, instead of getting my puppy nose based hopes up.

Finally got my crafts high enough to make the Rainbow Bustle set for crafting/around town. I was so tempted to use a tricorne for the hat instead and be a lady pirate, but for now, I'll be a gentlewoman around town.

Actually, that's not the only subspecies swap with names. I pay a bit more attention to Lalafell myself, but I've seen Dunesfolk with Plainsfolk names (one is outside The settlement in Middle La Noscea) I'm sure you can find various of every race if you look hard enough. I chock them up to inter-sub-species relationships where you get the traits of one species and naming conventions of another.

I still stare in envy at the Roegadyn only Wavy hair... That's why my Roegadyn has Wavy hair.
