Very excited for Summoner! My Arcanist is only lvl 19 atm, but I didn't get to play much during beta 4. Has it been confirmed that THM is the second class required?

I have always loved summoning and will definitly go SMN here in FFXIV. I don'y really like how in this FF the avatars arr at least at the moment portrayed as something evil..... They've always been my heros.

In any case I can't imagine using any other class/job for quite some time.

Requirements for unlocking summoner quest is-- Arcanist level 30- and having Thaumaturge to level 15. Link below

No one, I repeat, no one has unlocked any job in A Realm Reborn. You cannot base ARR's requirements off of 1.x's logic.

This goes for all Jobs, not just Summoner. The only thing we know for certain are what classes, other than Summoner and Scholar, the previously available Jobs have to pull cross-class abilities from. We know this because of 1.0 players who have already unlocked all Jobs (again, except Summoner and Scholar) in 1.x.

Personally I'm of the opinion that thinks the only "requirements" to unlocking a job are taking the appropriate class to level 30 and completing the quests/quest chain to obtain the Job Stone.
