    So far as I understand, all NMs are now fates. Which means you're more than welcome to camp them still, but you don't have to compete with other players for the claim. Most seem to only reward you with the standard FATE rewards, exp, gil and the like, but a few FATEs offer rewards if you get a gold medal and others increase local vendor's stock so that they include rare items (like minions!) So there are still benefits to camping certain FATEs.

    I saw this in Lotro

    I saw this feature in lotro...but fates work too. It kinda keeps me on my toes just doing these...just hope fates don't include like a super hard behemoth in certain areas.
