I didn't do any of the DOL or DOH class quests. But do you get any AFs or skills after a certain point in the quest line? Or are the quests solely for story.

Weaver now can make a Lot of those Level 50 DoL only Gear ^^
The quests are only for story + tools for that level. The class-specific armor is a high-level craft. Weaver and Leatherworker can hook you up.
that is amazing news... i dont have to do those quests.... now i just have to craft/farm... and regear everything ; ;
Price was no object when Count Dascorp put forth the necessary guild marks to purchase the ability “Fleet of Foot.”
There's been some info floating around about high level gathering/crafting tools that are equivalent to ones given by the gathering achievements but it's unknown as to how to get them. The high level gathering/crafting gear can be crafted.
I really want a lot more DoH/L quests... When you start in Limsa, you go out to farmland where you have to do various things that would best suit botanists and miners (picking oranges is one thing in particular springs to mind) but all of those quests have been twisted into combat quests (monsters attack when you pick those oranges for example). I remember in Grid there was at least one quest that had you repairing things that a CRP would normally do. It's the same for FATE's, you can't participate as a DoH/L even if the task specifically calls for things you'd associate with those disciplines.
The only quests for these disciplines are the ones you get every 5 levels from that class' guild, and those quests don't even track progress or require non tradeable items (such as quest specific items given as part of the quest) to be made/used/gathered so you can just pick some 1.0 stuff off your retainer (that you probably bought or got for free as throw aways from LS mates cleaning house) and hand them in without crafting/gathering a single thing.
I keep hoping that we'll get something vaguely reminiscent of the quest/FATE grind toted as this game's levelling style, at least when quests and FATE's ask us to do things that sound like work for these classes, but it looks like even 2 crafting/gathering quests per class per 5 level range is too much to ask for...
@mbncd
I suppose that's true, but nothing is stopping you from collecting your Exp reward/bonus while your DoH/L class is equipped. So everything is dumped onto your chosen class (assuming your Doh/L level is high enough). That even goes for the main storyline quest. What difference does it make what class you have equipped while you complete the quest objective, so long as your able to be rewarded with whichever class you so choose?

All of my DoH/L classes are already 50 so it isn't an issue of experience.I just wish that there were more quests and any FATE's aimed at crafters and gatherers, especially ones that specifically call for things you'd think those classes would do. Instead, it seems as though Yoshi&co are downright avoiding them, like making an orange collecting quest (from the earlier example) into a battle quest rather than just letting a botanist pick some oranges like was asked of them. There is tonnes of battle content and misc errand running content to fill quests and FATE's with, but there are also tonnes of things a DoH/L specifically could do to help out the NPC's around the world, outside of their class quilds and more often than once every 5 levels.
And yes, I know there are leves, just as there are battle leves, but leves aren't quests, they don't have real stories and characters and they don't break away from the grind or give you anything to think about. Quests have all of that and do all of that.
I'm not asking for a full quest grind (it's clear that's not going to happen, despite what Yoshi has said about questing and FATE's for the combat classes and about grinding in general), but even just 2-3 quests around the world per class per 5 level range, doing basic services or even expanding on basic services and areas, would be better than what we have currently and had in the 1.xx days.
You do actually get some of the best tools in the game if you finish those quest very much worth the time
I can confirm that the quest tool reward for the DOL quests were in fact to the level of the Achievment tools. Exact same Gathering and Perception stats. They also look very awsome. I begun my first DoH mission line last night before the severs were brought down again, and am 2 quests away from finishing the first of those.
All in all, it only took about 2 hours to complete each of the Min and Bot Quest lines. I am betting the fishing will take longer, but that is because of the random nature of the class still. So 2-3 hours of gathering for AA rated tool is very much worth it. 2-3 hours vrs 2-6 months (random number inserted here as I have not really tried to gather in bulk) debpending on dedication, which would you prefer?
