A Holy city of four noble houses. Ruled by the Arch Bishop, trapped in a thousand year war
They will be shunning jerks like we are used to in Coerthras (Think San'Doria but ravaged by weather and dragons lol)

City split in 2 lvls, the poor live on the lower slums and the rich live in the upper area.

New area the Dravanian...highlands i think it was. Looks like the old Coethras from 1.0 and a new beastmen fort it seems.

My Lore Panel synopsis:

"Loregasm" is officially a thing.
The story of how Fernehalwes got into localisation at SE, from making a bad Las Vegas game to playing XI while teaching English in Australia. Has worked on FFXI, Code Age Commanders (which never got published in English), Dirge of Cerberus, XIV & Realm Reborn.
LOC team is all in-house, unlike with most other companies - the work happens while the game is being made, together with the designers and developers, not after the fact.
Work with a team of five others (including one remotely in Australia! O_O It's a lot of text - About 100,000 words per patch, which is about the same as a single Kingdom Hearts game. Every patch. Yikes!
Bad puns are the fun bit, but there is Quest Dialogue (all flag-branches), Battle voices, balloon text, system messages, the works. And the Yoshi-P posts at 3am. Oh, boy! That man needs to sleep.
Meetings with devs > Fights with Devs > Making up with Devs (alcohol a must).
And much kudos to the QA team, who also find about 200 text errors per patch.

The map: A realm forged by gods, and fleshed out by a couple of guys with OCD.
Eg: The leather source needs to make sense. You've seen the posts, yeah?

Current Lore lead, Oda, a direct descendant of the Shogun that unified Japan. Ferne helps, but this guy does the bulk of the work.
Dealing with conflict: Producer wants to destroy the moon, art team wants Bearz. How to make this work? Devs set the foundation, Oda builds the framework, LOC/writers flesh out the story.
Like the version 1.0 levequests: Simply making earrings became errotic piercings and Ferne's initiative. This approach got capitalised on in 2.0.

The Bloody Executioner's is the remnant of a Executioner's guild concept that later developed into Marauders.
Naming of places: Scarwing Fall (rather than generic ravine) - Scarwing was a hero of Dravania, eventually taken down by the invention of ballistae. This is where he fell.
The Weeping Vale and the Choke - story of a pincer battle.
The Unholy Heir: Appeared after the calamity, rumoured to be an egg laid by Bahamut that will one day hatch since it survived the destruction. A smallfolk tale.

Aldenard, Ilsabard & Othard: A story of three brothers, abandonment of Aldenard, whom the Twelve then blessed. Cooler than plate tectonics.

Question Time!

How do you explain the hovering monsters?
The jelly fish & aquatics (notably in the sea of clouds) have extra bladders, one for swimming and one with noxious gases for floating - survivability by escaping waters. The Balloon Bug has the lore.

Why are the Allagans so huge?
Only Xande & Amon, actually. Advanced civilisation, where their technology tore them down. A lot of genetic manipulation.

Why are there touched Sylphs, when Ramuh doesn't seek expansion of territory?
It's the Sylphs that are a little crazy and want to be tempered like the other tribes who get strengths as such. Ramuh says "fair enough".

More about the pasts of other Archons?
Yes. Can't say much more yet. Heavensward. Please look forward to it.

White magic training outside the padjal?
Gets into the "Warrior of Light" subject. Only YOU are the Warrior of Light, story-wise. It's something you're kind of forced to look past. But there are other groups trying to revive white magic by more nefarious means, who may show up in a future patch?

Does the west shroud still exist or was it destroyed by Dalamud?
Both. A lot of wierdness got left in the West Shroud which Gridania is still cleaning up.

What happened to Amdapor and who is the BLM nation?
Limited answer. Amdapor and Nym teamed up against 3rd nation, weakened which led to their Umbral Era demise. It's not Belah'dia - this nation formed post-calamity from the remnants of it. Doesn't have a name, as yet.

How old is Kann-E-Senna?
She is in her late 20s. She took over from E-Sumi in 7th Umbral lead-up. She also presents herself as older than her appearance suggests to support an image with other nations.

How did Company of Heros survive without the Echo?
Overwhelming force of numbers. Waves of assault to overpower the tempering actions. Very few survived.

Constellations of the Eorzean Night Sky - stories?
In Ishgard, yes, due to the Astrologians. Heavensward. It's coming.
Eg: The positioning of the Dragonstar predicts dragon attacks.

Mamool Ja - primal worship?
Religion is less important to them, so its ambiguous as to whether they have a primal to worship or not.

Are the members of the Circle the Archons? What do tattoos mean?
Yes. Archons is a historical term for the persons who prepared surviving populations for the calamity. The Circle became this era's archons.

Where are children from other races than Hyur?
Elezen are there. Will be more Miqote kids in 3.0. The others exist but... they are kinda behind locked doors.

Origin of expletive, "Thal's Bloody Balls"?
Ferne likes swearing. People are generally going to do it in their tough lives. Mundane swearing is greatly based on blasphemy, thus the Eorzean version.
Thal's actually worked out based on ability to swear, as is the division of Nald and Thal, just to make this work.

What does Brangwine want with all that stuff?
Ebay. It's all about money.

Why can't Garlean's use magic?
Genetically unable. Lots of info on magic, helps them control populations, and founds the science of machina to counterassault magic.

Ninja'd. There is a legend of a being of languages that vashied to the void and sometimes returning as an Ahriman. :P

Faries - where are they from?
Not voidsent. Fit in with elementals (and sprites). Their own aspect within the aether.

Where does the train line in Black Brush lead?
Bulit and Operated by Amajina & Sons, a private line feeding into the mines.

Do scions like Yda have the echo?
No, but can't elaborate. Circle of Knowing rather than Path of the Twelve.

Folk stories of cross-specicies breeding? Mortality rates?
Adventurers come from "elsewhere", presumably more progressive locations. Eorzean culture is still segregated. Old tribal wars and bad blood, only recently overcome. Not impossible fro cross-breeding, but socially very rare. There will be quests in 3.0 where we will see what happens to children from such unions.
Lala x Roe? Logistically, how are you going to do that? Ok, so it could, but... you don't want to see it.

What are the age scales? Maturity to death?
Lifespans equivilant to our own, 120 years at most, but no modern medicine to support that. Some rare zen-powered exceptions.
But elezen go longer, also maturing slower. Hence why elezen kids from 1.0 are still kids.

Who are the other Legati, do they relate to game numbers? War of succession?
Can't answer. It's coming. cutscenes and stuff.

A lore library?
Totes want it. Still pushing as high as Yoshida. Unlikely before the expansion, but would love to discover some aged vault or something.

Male Highlanders eyebrows?
violent tribe, everyone fights. Shaving them off is a psych-out tactic.

Noticed immediately, first thought: Whoo! That pretty new SMN and a mystery WHM AF2 in May (May???) !
