Recently decided to make a new character(fresh start, plus 'Mister Phister' doesn't seem nearly so clever as when I came up with the name), and try going tank after over 10 years of playing DPS in MMOs. Still adjusting, but nerves aside it's going well and is enjoyable. Anyone else ever do this sort of thing, or do you like to swap roles regularly?

I made an Alt account, a Male Miqo'te that for RP sake is a relative of Niques.

My aim was to play like a 'casual' player and experience the game through DFs only, quietly and by myself. Its been very slow (an hour or two a week) But he does have SMN and SCH 50 with a little CT gear and BTN 46. I don't normally play sch because I don't enjoy it much, but since ARN is 50...

But I outed him one evening so from then on my FC friends knew I had an alt lol... but we usually use an alt to fill a place so we can get everyone through T5 each week.

I play 2 characters at once, both pretty casually (up to T4 in coil, waiting for 7 other good people to take down Titan, I know I'm a conceited jerk!). I love having two characters, because I focus on my "main" then those times when I feel like there is nothing to do I can go grind myth for great rewards on my alt!

I did this back at release, and I've gotta say, as a career Black Mage/Caster I've really been enjoying tanking. Admittedly a bit too much, haha! At first I was just doing it casually, anonymously on my alt's server, but I pretty quickly got hooked on it. I kinda feel bad for neglecting my main so much... T_T

Btw... Did you and Nique get your 1.0 CE Journal back yet?

I will keep an eye out ^^ ah yes we did, only sent it to a few people. not sure when we will start sending it out to everyone. will be intense.

Niqote: Haha, doing a little undercover work for a while there, Nique? Investigating the Miqo'te underworld? :P

Ehayte: That's a good way to keep things fresh. Despite being able to switch classes and all, it's still a nice change of pace to play as a different character altogether.

Mysteltain: Same here. Just finished tanking Ifrit normal, and while I know none of the group content so far has been all that difficult I'm still happy with how I'm doing. Though my main role was always melee dps, which might be helping a little with my adjustment to the new role.

During the Battle of Cartenau, all of Eorzea bore witness to the rise of Bahamut which lead to what we all know as the "The Calamity". The End of an Era. We were all there when Bahamut spread it wings unleashed it's almighty destructive force upon the land, leaving scars of which our fellow Eorzeans shall speak of for Era's to come. In this black page of history, many of our friends, companions and even family were lost. Gone from the world, yet they remain in our hearts and minds.

Life is precious and should be savored at all times.

It breaks our hearts to see yet another fellow Eorzean fall in the heat of battle, to hunger and starvation, or even felled by a disease. As practitioners of the divine arts, we feel it is our duty... Our responsibility to save life as best as we can. We just cannot allow life to fade away without fighting for it.

As their bodies are being lift from the ground, color returns to their cheeks and their eyes slowly open once more. Once your eyes meet, a smile appears on their face, followed by a sign of appreciation for your kind act.
