Just dropping by here, as I can't get ingame where i am now. I'm a new player who'll buy the full game next week, on Cerberus (hoping that's a good and populated server), and loving the game so far and the prospect of Dragoon and Bard. P.s. not much of a FF expert. Only played crystal-something on DS, and another one, also FF3 and started 4 and 11 on DS i think

I've been struggling to level WHM but that Shiva gear has given me the motivation I need.

I've read that the Shiva gear is called the "Hailstorm Attire of Casting" (source: (Dengekionline) Preview for patch 3.2.), meaning that it would be used for Black Mage and Summoner. I haven't really seen a set for Fending, Aiming and Healing yet. Although, i'm guessing that we'll get the "Landslide Attire of Fending". (^_~ )

But, in that same thread i also read contradictory things as well. Ow well, only a week or so to go till the patch. We'll know for sure then. (^_~ )

Welcome to the game Vidrian! \(^_^ )/ You don't have to be an Final Fantasy Expert to enjoy what the game has to offer you, so take your time and explore the possibilities the game has to offer.

You mentioned that you liked the prospect of the Dragoon and the Bard. I see that you've leveled Archer and Lancer to 20 and on top of that you've already unlocked Pugilist and Marauder as well. It seems to me that you've already done some research. Good job! (^_^ )-b

Once you get the Lancer to 30 and the Marauder to 15, you'll be able to unlock the "Dragoon"-job. However, if you haven't read about it already, but as a dragoon you can also use skill from the Pugilist. You can find the cross class skill you can use from both classes here:

Once you get the Archer to 30 and the Pugilist to 15, you'll be able to unlock the "Bard"-job. Like with the "Dragoon" Job, you can also use skill from the Lancer. You can find the cross class skill you can use from both classes here:

Take your time to familiarize with the classes and pick the class you find the most fun to use. However, i would like to suggest that you pick up the Conjurer class as well (located in Old Gridania). If you level that class to 8, you can use both "Cure" and "Protect" while leveling your classes. This will make it a lot easier, since you will get less damage due to "Protect" and you can heal yourself in sticky situations with "Cure".

Because the bows in FF14 look AMAAAAAZING, and I read somewhere that instead of pure dps, it also offers multiple buffs to support their party, and I'd like to be, for once, something else than pure dps

Also, Aldora, If i unlock bard and DRG at 30, I lose the ability to use Cure and protect on them, right?

Yes, that is correct. (^_^ ) That's because a Dragoon can only use the cross class abilities from the Marauder and Pugilist. When you are not equipping a Soulstone, you can use the cross class skills from all available classes, while being able to equip more them at the same time.

This will make the leveling part from 1 to 30 a lot easier if you have Cure and Protect available. (^_~ )-b

Nope, according to the trailer, the fending gear are based on Ifrit, like the monk.

Hello Cherubs, I've been having some computer issues! Somethings messed up and my team (Rubi ... w/ Maki on Line Support) of Computer (experts?) are pulling it apart to see why its doing that weird pixel buggy spuzzy thing.
...The tests are inconclusive.

I'm looking forward to the new patch, I'll need to level a tank to get into the mentor system though!
How is everyone going with their relics? I have saved up 2000 Esoteric Tomes, predicting that we can buy Relic items with it since they are introducing a new Tome.
I'm 11/11/15/15 ... getting close! (though have been lazy regarding the weapon)

I do wish that SE had not spoiled this patches Scion appearing >< ... surely they could have hinted at her instead of showing us completely?
And I very much would have rathered see a certain someone getting punched in the face during the heat of the moment rather then in a trailer...

I suppose its a difficult balance between showing off great content and keeping things hidden for the players to experience first hand...
