I'm gonna go for sweat pants and a bikini when the vanity slots are out :P it's my yoga look ^_^

Also, server transfer for me soon. Gotta go for the better ping for aussies seeing as titan never seemed hard, outside of the fact when the circle appeared on me, I was already doomed >_>
So, Masamune or Sargatanas? What's better ping wise? O_o

I'm a Brisbanite on Ragnarok and ping times kill me a lot... It's like the AoE markers are just there to taunt me. "Oh, you're all the way over there now? Well, too bad! Na na nana na~ *boom*"

I have noticed something really really weird. I still can't believe I'm typing this. Especially since all that I learned tells me it shouldn't be happening. But considering my 160ms ping, I shouldn't be having 1-2 seconds delay on dodging AoE. So yesterday, I set all my graphic settings to "low" (20-30fps -> 40-60fps) and... i can now dodge AoE properly. It's as if the graphic lag prevents the game from showing the AoE marker in time or something. I feel like I'm going crazy. And the most crazy thing is, I could reproduce it yesterday - once I set my custom settings and had the game drop below 30 fps at times, I could no longer dodge. Maybe it's time to set the good old "actions executed by enemies" chat filter into my main chat window again.

My custom settings give me around 50fps but I once put up the 30fps limit, because I got told that my CPU won't cry the whole time then (which is true, except crowded areas).
Now yesterday someone said I should put it to "no limit" and that it would help... I'd ike to test it but I don't want my CPU to cry again ._.
(CPU had less problems with 1.0 than with ARR and I don't know why.)

Sorry for leaving yesterday, Crim >.<

If anything, the GPU would have to work harder, not the CPU oO
Well, maybe to a degree, but not really that much. 30fps limit in itself is fine, especially since it gets you more stable fps overall. And the game looks surprisingly good on low settings as well, only things I increased is grass/shadow quality, and the game looks almost the same as on high settings.

Also, np, someone from the party did a suicide run after you DCed wiping everyone so we left and then half of the people went afk, so I left too.

I don't know why, but I really had the feeling it would affect my CPU too :0

I am pretty sure this relates to drawing priority issues, and that is probably managed by the CPU. The drawing priority is seemingly scenery over other players, players over NPC and enemies, and enemies/npc over AOE. So the higher your overall graphics the longer the AOE takes, because it draws after all the fancy effects going on. In other words, the AOE lag is probably partially being caused by the scenery quality, character quality, and battle effects, just because even though the AOE is such a basic on screen item itself, it is being performed after those other things. One solution I found that helps is to disable the battle effects of other players and enemies. Made a huge difference in my ability to handle AOE in zerg-fest. When I can see the enemy at all that is.

I think at some point they are going to need to tweak the client side engine itself in terms of how it prioritizes objects and actions on screen, so that enemy AOE always are higher priority than anything else except your own character.

I for myself disabled animations for people outside my party and those from my pt mates are tweaked. (High - mid - off) Reason for this: Compared to 1.0, 2.0 is very flashy and lots of pew pew that can distract you @.@

    EDIT:
Just tested the "no limit" settings... Added 20% on my CPU usage and GPU too. Felt really laggy too, not as smooth as with 30fps limit.
