Fishing compared to other DoL

I wonder if they did any time trials to balance the running time in mining and botany with the wait and fail time with fishing. I think its just that time goes faster when you are running than just waiting. I know mining takes more time than two battlecrafts and the fishers were ahead of us miners in level gains on xivpro lists so I'm not sure it's really slower.

Still I do wonder why they made fishing different. I know I would feel a little silly moving fishing spots after 3-8 catches. I dont feel silly doing that on mining even though that is just as absurd for a real miner to do.
