That would be too easy. You would have to put no effort into planning ahead of time what, when and where you will be gathering. You would just teleport from one location to another resetting your own timer at your leisure, allowing for a much greater exploitation of resources than would otherwise be offered by a short window of opportunity.

The crocus and vanilla flower do not bloom upon demand - there is a short window of opportunity, usually a few hours once per day, upon which their valuable resources can be harvested or manipulated. This is what restricts supply and in the face of steady demand and creates value from a rare material.

I understand where you're coming from, but the hours I work are as long as they are erratic. One night I might finish at 10pm, the next it might be 3am. I guess I was kinda hoped for something like I described. It'd still prevent overuse; one harvest every 24 hours from the specific node, but if remaining unharvested the node will remain. That sorta thing.
People will make timers for the nodes anyway, and people will be sure to use them, so I don't really see how it'd be so different outside of twenty botanists all crowding around a single tree.
