It took me a little while to get used to, too. For my other jobs I just tap R1 to switch between the two "active" hotbars that I have... the pet one keeps tripping me up, but I'll get used to it!
Sorry about the heat, I was not intending to be rude.

Indeed the pet active hotbar is a problem since I also have my buff hotbar and my summon/items hotbar and I tried the macros:

Buff set #3 (Icon number 3 for macro)
/chotbar change 3 (Any buffs so my main set consists of attack/defense skills only)

    Summon/Item set #4
/chotbar change 4 (All summons and a variety of consumables)

But none worked while I had the Pet Hotbar option ON.

    Good stuff here Epherion.

I was thinking after Phase 4 ended about how I'd change the way i set up my ACN bars and turn the pet bar off. As much as I like the idea of a pet bar appearing only when I have a pet out - as it is very convenient - I just can't stand how the actions on it are set up on gamepad. The least useful actions in battle are on the most optimal buttons.

I was thinking of a way to set up my bars so that I can have commands for both topaz and emerald, but never thought to have use of a specific Summon Macro that not only summons the pet in question, be prepares the hotbar for them.

    Consider me inspired.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the GCD timer coming from your own spells seems to put your pet's skills on cooldown as well. This means that only you or your pet can perform skills as soon as the GCD is refreshed. Manually casting your pet's skills doesn't seem worthwhile because it forces one of you to do nothing for a short time.

Personally, I think you can do well enough by using only the "Heel" and "Sic" commands. Let the AI take care of spamming Gust every 2.5 sec. I can also see "Place" being very useful in fights where positioning matters or for kiting. The less you have to focus on your pet, the more time you can spend focusing on your own spell rotation and positioning.

The default Pet Hotbar is terrible on a controller. You can't customize it and it overrides your other cross hotbar sets. I'd recommend disabling it and customizing your own set with fewer commands like Sic, Heel, Place, and a couple mode changers like Obey and Guard.

Don't have macros for specific roles but its easy enough to hit f1-4 then your cure button. f1-8 if you're in a full party. f9 is the default to target your pet for your pet.

The macros I use on ACN/SCH/SMN are:

    /ac swiftcast <me>
    /wait 1
    /ac "summon #" <me>
    /hotbar change #

The hotbar change is for summon micro so I don't have Selene or Eos doing stuff when they aren't in the right position and such. Having them decide to use the Skill Speed or Regen buffs right after I summon them isn't the best.

    And both have a
    /hotbar change #
that switches to a hotbar with with DD spells and they have one in the same slot that switches back.

You just can't use pet commands while casting. You can do say Bio -> Embrace no problem because Bio is instant cast. As for manually casting them, you just have to hit it once and then you can do w/e don't have to wait for anything, just can't issue another pet command that would cancel the first one.

Best I could come up with is this, timing them for more than one rotation would be frustrating and potentially worthless if target moved out of range. I put fester for boss' or solo enemies, you can replace it with Bane for multiple targets. You have to have aether up before the chain Also you could add raging strikes at the beginning of the chain or just do it manually (haven't bothered unlocking it yet). Had to add a few extra delays for animation. If you have any better ones please share

    /ac "Bio II" <t>
    /wait 2.5
    /ac "Miasma" <t>
    /wait 2.5
    /ac "Bio" <t>
    /wait 1.5
    /ac "Fester" <t>
    /wait 1
    /ac "Thunder"

interesting. never really considered doing this to create a list. But by your macro list your unable to move for about 8-10 seconds. Do you ever get that time? On fodder dungeons i can see it but in end game ones, might cause a problem. This does however give me PLENTY of ideas to fix certain restrictions i have so thanks!

    1/ DoTs rotation:
    /ac "Thunder" <t>
    /wait 2.5
    /ac "Miasma" <t>
    /wait 2.5
    /ac "Bio" <t>
    /wait 2.5
    /ac "Bio II" <t>
    /echo "Rotation End"

I use Bio as third command because it is instant, give me time to cast Aetherflow in between, before it starts casting Bio II, get ready for my Bane/Fester at the end of the rotation. When the macro finish casting, it will let me know by echo back "Rotation ends" to me. I like to make it simple, so I can be more mobility. I cast Aether and Bane/Fester manually, so I don't waste them and be more control of what to use and when to use.

    2/ Heal :
    /ac "Physik" <t>
    /ac "Physik" <mo>
    /ac "Physik" <me>
    /say "Heal is coming"

It checks for the target I selected and process to heal. If target is not available (out of range, no target select, target dead,...), it then checks my mouse where it is pointing to (not select) and heal accordingly on allies. If none of the above is fulfilled,it will heal me instead. Upon completion, a message will pop up, as the same as I listed,to let me and my allies know I am doing healing.
