Looking for more clarification for FFXIV 1.0 owners.

I have searched over and over and nothing seems clear about this issue and or is just hear say from one person to the other.

I bought the game back on 10/24/2010. I played it for less then a month before I gave up as the system they had back then sucked and hard to play for newer players.

I know you need to have been a paid user for 3+months to become a legacy. But what does this mean for non people such as my self that only played a month.

My questions are:
Do we get the game ARR still for free? The chat support was not vary clear on it when I talked to them. All they did was hint if I saw it here "https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/acctop" that I will get it for free. But just want more clarification on this.

Do we get access to the Early access on the 24th? Chat support could not seem to answer this question at all. I did read on the forums before the new ones that we did from a dev. But hey was hinting at a post about legacy. But seeing as I am a 1.0 and only played a month I am not a legacy in there eyes.

I did play during phase4 My characters where on the legacy servers. So I know I have a account and did own 1.0.

Please do not try and answer these 2 questions if you don't have 100% proof from a dev forum post. I rather not get hear say.

so i hope i can clear a few things up.

because you owned a copy of 1.0, will get a free download of the client on the 27th. actually you have the phase 4 beta on your pc still, don't delete it, that will be updated to the game client.

the early access only ties to 1.0 accounts if they obtained legacy. there was, is, two ways to get early access. one was to pre order the new version of arr or to be legacy. legacy was obtained if you paid for 3 months consecutively within a certain time period before 1.0 was shut down. so if you played for a month in the free period or when they made us pay, you did not meet the requirements. just because you have a 1.0 account doesn't make it legacy.

a legacy server are servers that carried over from 1.0.

non legacy 1.0 players will get a free upgrade to ARR equivalent to the version you originally owned. you will get 14 days of free access at which point you will need to subscribe in the same manner as every other non-legacy/new player, with monthly fees starting at $12.99/month.

Legacy get special perks which are too depressing to mention.

If you are talking about the reduced fee per month for legacy players, you do know for people who paid the minimum 3 months obtain legacy status won't feel the effect of the reduced cost vs someone who started paying full 2.0 fee price until about 10~12 months. And people who paid for longer than the 3 months will take them even longer to feel the change.

Why do you say that? they get the choice to pay $9.99 per month regardless of subscription term. As for non-legacy, for the same benefits(non entry) our fees start at $14.99/month and only get as low as $12.99/month when subscribing for 180 days at a time. I know it's not much... but that's at least $3/month that could be spent on other things...

If you add the cost of the game + cost of legacy, and the discounted sub for a year and compare it to a new player picking up 2.0 and a lowest discounted cost of sub for them you'll see that it takes about 10-12 months before legacy player will end up paying less per month (or rather less total) than the new player (or 1.0 people that quit and didn't pay for legacy at all).

The tweak here bro is that you must have 90days paid after, and only AFTER, Jan 6 2012. And it has to be between Jan 6 2012 and Jun 20ish 2012. Read my thread and you'll get more details. I have the best/perfect case to show the flaws in their calculations for Legacy Status assignation.
