[Request] Road Map for FFXIV

Hey there. Now I don't want to make a negative thread loaded with complaints and moaning. I just saw all the news on FFXI this week and the roadmap which was released today:

I know FFXI has its own dev team but it would be really nice if we could get something like this for FFXIV as well.
I fully understand that redoing basic systems in the game takes time but I am sure many of us who have been aboard since beta testing, and who have grown very weary with all the needed patience and waiting, would really appreciate something like this.

We know jobs are getting redone and the battle system is being redone. We also know something about companies is in the works.

It would however be really nice to finally hear something about proper content plans. Ishgard, more storyline and quests, those nice new armours they posted artwork for and new jobs as well. Do we have to wait more than a year to see any of this, is this stuff actually even being worked on?

Could you maybe just release some art-work, I know I love art-work designs and seeing them gives us a sense of confirmation that work is actually being done. We all know how hard the team is working, but its easy to forget and that is why seeing news, plans and artwork is a nice way to help us hang on.

So let's stay positive and hope for the best and just kindly request some news such as the FFXI players have been receiving. Thank you. ^_^/

We have our own roadmap and an official reason why it is only for few months at a time.

Yet, Yoshida really should trust his team enough to be able to post info regarding the next patch few weeks ahead of time. XI team can afford a longer period as they have been doing this stuff for 10+ years, but come on now. Throw us a bone.

WTF is your obsession with the 19th? Is that the day the Earth is blowing up? I get it, thats the date you set for the update to come out. But i think you missed a couple other threads having your date in it. Hurry post it in those threads fast..

Who knows, but if it gets rid of the people bitching every other post I'm all for the 19th.

I was thinking the same thing after discovering the FFXI roadmap.

Even though the developers letters have got some nice info in them, I still think a roadmap is a good idea. Heck, even a tidbit of information today would be wonderful, people are getting really antsy. I shudder to think what the forums will be like this weekend if there is still no news.

XI and XIV team are basically the same, but the difference is XI has the breathing room to do this, XIV needs a lot of reanalysis and redesigning.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure Yoshida doesn't want to do this then apologize for a promise he couldn't keep. Although I'd kill for him to break the silence again.

I forgot what Fanfest it was (The one that happened a few weeks before ToAU came out) and they had a road map back then and didn't come anywhere close to the content they promised on that map. If the current XI team can keep up with it good for them.

I definately understand that they do not want to show off something or promise something they are then unable to keep.

I just feel that many players have been waiting anxiously and patiently for a long while now. Yes they are redoing basics and it takes up a lot of time. There is just so much potential to the game and I can't help but feel a bit desperate for any little tidbit of info that shows there is actually more being worked on than just a battle-system revamp. (and jobs and companies) ^^
