When is Square Enix going to start taking the state of the game seriously?

I know that most people will probably read the title of this thread and think "Oh no, just another troll crying for no reason" etc. I've been supportive of Sqaure Enix and most of the actions that they have taken up until now, and I fully understand that they are making a huge effort to get the game on track.

But the game is falling apart. From the perspective of my LS, literally every day I log on I find that fewer and fewer of the LS members are playing. It's getting to the point now where we're struggling to gather enough members for events when about 6 weeks ago we were close to being able to run 2 groups. With the release new MMOs such as RIFT people are finding that they don't have to wait months for new content to start having fun, and are just leaving.

Now I realise that obviously there is only a certain speed at which new content can be implemented. But the development team must be by now finished the planning process, or at the very least pretty far into it. So my question is this; why haven't we been given any specific information yet?

Sure, we've been told that endgame content will include something called "Grand Companies of Eorzea" - but just what is it exactly? I read last month in a letter from the producer that we would soon hear information on it, but given the Tohoku Earthquake tragedy it is understandable that it was delayed. But now that the game has been up and running again for weeks, is there really a reason that we haven't been told yet? What will these quests involve? How many players will be able to take part? What kind of rewards can we expect? And probably most importantly, when will it be impleneted?

The reason I think that giving us specific details on content is important because people have nothing to look forward to. Right now, it's just a case of putting blind faith into Square Enix and hoping that they deliver on their promise to improve the game, without any idea when or even if this will happen. I'm an optimist (annoyingly so, probably) so I have no problem doing this, but every day when I log on to find the extent of the new information we get is "zomg! bigger battle animations!" and "more aggro icons!" I just find myself getting more frustrated at SE than I would be with no information at all, feeling like they have no idea what the situation is like ingame regarding player numbers.

Anyways, I'll stop moaning now ^^. I hope other people feel the same and SE realises this and stops being stingy with details on content that is going to give people a reason to keep playing.

Some of your LS members are probably like me and have stopped playing until the new battle system is up and running. I see no point in playing until the new system is in place. Also I'm getting impatient with the lack of info too, but at the same time I understand they're working hard to get the patch out as fast as they can, Yoshi-P hasn't logged into the forums since March 31st so he must be busy.

My LS is all playing other MMOs until we have something to do. The team is either going to dump a ton of shit on us at once (in hopes that it brings people back in a huge wave, rather than little updates that wouldn't draw people back) or SE just really doesn't think of this game as a high priority as much as FFXIII-2 and Versus XIII

Agree, my LS is in the same situation.

It's not like we want new content NOW or we want the game to be fixed immediately, but we just want to know how the game is gonna be in the next months. In 3 months of developement we can't expect the game to be fixed but we could at least have some information on where it's heading... how will be the new battle system, how will be fixed the armory system, these things should be already planned by now.
From Yoshi-P's behaviour we can tell he doesn't want to break promises, but I guess everyone understand that they're still testing and certain things they would say might be changed in the end, but at least we could get a hint on where they're heading.
Honestly the current lack of informations makes me wander if they have a plan at all...

Well our LS have gone back to FFXI now and will on login to FFXIV for leve runs.

SE are however taking the state of the game very seriously I believe, re-shuffle of staff, admittance that the game is not satisfactory, not charging us to play.

However I believe current players are not the primary focus for them. They are obviously working on big changes to the core mechanics which we will see but as for content they will drip feed us as little as they have to and save as much as they can for the PS3 launch/re-launch of the game.

There is no point in them giving us anything as they have lost to many players already, they will just give us core fixes and then launch on the PS3 with an expansion (one I hope we get for free) and then build hype and interest from there.

We are not asking for content or updates, we are asking for INFOS.
The current playing base is taken for granted, like if we are playing right now we'll do it no matter what... totally false.
Personally I enjoy the game as it is, but since I know there are gonna be major changes I want to know if I will like the game even after all the patches or if I should give up now.
And I guess it's the same for those not playing, everyone wants to know what we are gonna get after the whole re-design.

Com on, we know more things about games that are still on development, why can't we have a clue about what we are playing right now?...

Stop trying to watch a pot boil water, and demand it boil faster. I'm happy they not givinbg too much info, we have nothing to overspectulate and end up disappointed. Which was the first mistake. Atm they trying to keeo their hand close till they feel ok to reveal it. I rather see post about impaitent ppl then over speculation.

Almost all of the threads in this forum are about speculations, we can speculate on everything! They are gonna change the few things we have and add new ones and we know nothing about them, we've got plenty of things to speculate on

over spectulation meaning pipe dreams and wanting them real. Look what happen with the quests. ppl over speculated them... and now they "suck" for the lamest reasons.

You guys let your imagination run wild and it ruins the game cuz stuff don't fit what you imagine, and claim it sucks.

PPl set them selfs up for dissappointment. Kinda what happen with ffxiv. :/
