PS3 to PS4 upgrade?

With the recent news of some games being released this fall to have an upgrade program if you buy the PS3 version of a game then the PS4 version of the game when it comes out, has there been any news on Final Fantasy XIV implementing something like this? I hate to have to buy a game twice on top of the monthly subscription. I really would like to play it now (loved the beta) but might hold out for the PS4 version if I have to pay full price a 2nd time for the same game with better graphics.

Sorry if this is not the best place to post this question, since I am new to these boards I can't post many places yet.

Ok thanks for the reply, figured there wouldn't be much info since there hasn't really been any news about the ps4 version yet but figured it didn't hurt to ask on these forums where things like this may have been discussed already. Now I just have to decide between today and tomorrow if I should preorder the ps3 version for early access or wait for ps4 news

I got the CE PS3(hard copy), and hoping that PSN store will sell the digital DL for lower price for PS4.

But I wonder If you buy PS3 download off the PSN store now, will be able to download it again off the PSN store for PS4

Unlikely, check this out. But it is not official. That said, they can turn that around anytime without a notice in a flash. Just like Microsoft DRM policy. But I have been seeing some retailers (GameStop) campaign "Buy this game not and for $10 upgrade to PS4 copy."

I suspect that your purchases on the PSN store will transfer to Gaikai when they start offering it, and you will be able to play them on your PS4 through Gaikai

That's a different beast then I am referring to. What I am talking about is a lot of companies are offering a program where if I say buy the PS3 version of Battlefield 4 then when I get a PS4 I can trade in the ps3 version and get the PS4 version for only $10 more dollars. Now I don't really expect Final Fantasy XIV to do this because of how staggered the releases for the ps3 to ps4 version will be but figured it is a question to ask

Would be great if they did that, but if they did, it would probably only apply to the PS3 Standard edition, and not the Collector's Edition. If they release a PS4 Collector's Edition, I would probably end up getting it as well, seeing as I have the 1.0 CE and the PS3 2.0 CE. I just hope that with the release of the PS4 being in November they won't wait until May-August to release the PS4 version... I would hope to see the XIV:ARR PS4 Edition coming out sometime nearer February-March, although that gives very little time for mastery of Lightning Returns... lol...

I wouldn't trouble yourself over far-fetched matters though; we've still got a while until it comes out on PS4.

We have less than 90 days until the PS4's release.... Hopefully less than 180 days until the PS4 acquires ARR...

I don't see how PS4 launching in 3 months time is going to change things.
I'm still confident that it'll be a while until XIV launches on PS4.
