[Dev 1011] Failing Guildleves Intentionally?

I didn't say it wasn't viable i said it wasn't reasonable, sure people can do it sure its an option, that doesn't make it a good one though. you people are arguing for the sake of argument. Grinding is a shit way to rank up, everyone knows it, its one of the largest complaints of the FFXIV community it is the #1 reason why everyone leve links and leve fails if grinding was a good way to rank then no one would be doing the boring ass leves, plain and simple you cant argue that.

You did say it wasnt viable. If you want to change and now say it wasn't reasonable I agree with you that if you want the most SP for your time it may not be reasonable to alot of people, but that doesn't mean its not viable if you prefer it to leves.

Coblyns were mostly used for solo grinds.
I was effectively grinding on Billys with another friend at r20 for 400 sp a kill 2 days ago.
Crabs were always fun to grind on, end efts too.

Doesn't count if this was before rank 24, btw. Not being rude or anything but experience point values are really inflated before then. Past 24, you reach the normal game.

Doesn't really matter whether you're defending guildleves, grinding, behests, or slamming your head against the wall, it all works well before rank 24. The TNRs are low, and the experience points you get are boosted.

Still though, I grinded after R24 with antlings and they still netted you good sp gains.. Just no one goes out to grind after r30, especially since NO ONE is at camps unless it's a LS doing leve fails

False. You haven't tried any trial and error with groups/mobs. There ARE mobs THROUGHOUT the ranking process in which you can have VIABLE SP gains. If you can't do your research to find them, or trial and error, then don't make comments about things you clearly do not understand. Guildleves can be finished in under 2-3 hours. I still have OVER a full day to gain SP. And you're going to tell me that going and grinding mobs at this point is not viable for SP?

Sorry for the snappy response then. On the "reasonable" level, I can kinda agree, they surely aren't the fastest means to rank, but if you're like me and doing several classes at once, you chew through your leves fast and then are left with nothing -but- the grind, in which case it really is up to the person to go and explore and try, because there are mobs out there that can net you alright SP over the course of a couple hours, provided you find a few good people to tag along.
