Character transfers for Legacy players.

I have a couple of friends who are Legacy players played 1.X then quit who want to come back and play try out ARR but they were unaware that there was only a small window to transfer Legacy characters to another Legacy server, now they are stuck on some other server and unable to play with me.

They didn't play the beta at all because they were waiting for launch. He assumed that when you log in with a Legacy character it would ask you to pick a server but that isn't the case.

My question is when is SE going to open up character transfers for Legacy people to move to another Legacy server? Will it be right at launch? This seemed like it was a deal breaker for my friend if he can't transfer on day one he probably won't want to play.

I am sure there are other returning players in a similar situation. They could even be stuck on JP servers now.

They're releasing paid character transfers a couple of weeks after launch. Free transfers are done though, and there won't be options for day one transfers.

legacy characters can only transfer to legacy servers at first(if at all). there's an enormous financial gap there that will screw up the economy on new servers, they clarified this on the old forums, I'm sure they'll do the same here soon enough.

They don't want to transfer to a non Legacy server but from Legacy to a Legacy server because they didn't play the beta so they missed stuff like the transfer period.

I'm positive they said we'll be given world transfer details shortly after the launch... but I can't recall whether I read it on the Beta Forums or heard about it during a Live Letter... I'll just wait for official announcement ;-)

I'm fairly sure the transfer applications weren't even done through the beta. It was an email sent out to all Legacy members. If your friends ignored it, then they're out of luck. They'll have to wait until paid character transfer is available.

legacy to legacy sure to other servers? never it would break the server /game.

Sooner the better I say, I feel like a prisoner on the legacy servers ; ;
