I was on Behemoth in phase 3 but my friend told me he was going on Gilgamesh with his friends when phase 4 and launch were coming out and asked me to come with. So I went with and joined on Gilgamesh.

My gaming group (which became my FC) chose this server, so I followed.

A group of friends decided to join this one. I also learned a lot of online communities joined it, so that made it seem more fun to join a popular server.
I typically roll on "unofficial" RP servers as the community tends to be more mature. Hasn't failed me yet!
Yep, this. Of course I can't vouch for every RPer out there (because I'm not going to pretend like the "RP nazi" doesn't exist), but generally speaking? I've found a friendlier, more grown-up community every time I've ever tried an RP server.
I've been doing this since the early days of DAoC and the majority of the time it's worked out fairly well.
