In truth I guess I can understand their point, do I Agree with it? No, not in the least, look at it this way.
1) At launch the game was basically a flop. Don't you want to show people how you improved? The fact it is hiding does show to some people that Perhaps it has NOT improved, granted we know it has, but with the NDA can't really counter it much.
2) Let's face it, with point 1, I would be letting everyone stream to show it was not a flop, that it was a contender...
3) For a lot of streamers they have one of two choices.. a] Because we can't stream it means those that have looked forward to the Early Access, means some will have to skip out on it, or well b] Skipping streaming, which some people do for a living, or do for charities... just to play the game.
In truth, they have nothing but to gain, especially from all the bad problems of the past.
This was actually posted yesterday, and it seems they already mentioned that it will not be lifted. Thank Reinheart for the translation. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post1030534
NDA Still in effect is extremely bad form, Streamer's help promote the games and actually bring in more sales, Plus to someone who said Viewers were obnoxious bad people you are extremely wrong you can meet some of the nicest people on streams.
WHY CANT YOU WAIT 3 DAYS?
asking it to be changed while they are focusing on the game is "extremely bad form" no one cares about streaming and they have told you when you can do it.....
You are so aggressive, and maybe people are extremely busy over the next few days and coming weeks, truely though if this is how you respond I do hope I do not meet you ingame at all.
Greetings!
We appreciate those of you that are seeking to operate within our Terms of Service as we launch FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. As the Original Poster's question has been answered, this thread will now be closed.
Thank you and have a nice day,
GM Mauksee
Yeah, if you bought FFXI back in the day, you're immune to bans, that makes sense.
Honestly though, I don't care if people stream during early access, whatever floats people's boats. I just wanted to point out that a possible reason for why it's still not allowed for EA is that whatever contract/legal work they did in order to specifically release the rights and allow us to stream (since they specifically said they went through the trouble to ensure that streaming their game would be free of copyright entanglements for our convenience) isn't set to take effect until 8/27/2013.

Where does it say this in the terms? Genuinely curiousMay want to actually read that agreement form for early access that is already present when you update the client currently and click accept to the 2 parts. It clearly states You agree to all terms in order to continue an d play during early access, as well as during the period until final launch, no transmission of video, audio, or concurrent images with a time refresh greater then 1 minute can be done. Violation will result in early termination of your product key. SE reserves the right to change this at any time.
So until they say go ahead, I wouldn't. Many of us have XI accounts as well but wouldn't risk it. There is also no way your XI beta account is still linked. THat was well before the SE account system was in place, and I was in the original Ps2 beta a over 10 years ago, and it was never linked.
Did you read it at all or simply click accept on both parts? On the first section it covered reproduction, transmission of content. THe second covered account use and rights.
The first and Video/Audio, concurrent images was stated until the 27th. At which point you will probably have to click an udated version to agree too.
At any point they could say go ahead, until then, the current one you clikc after the update 2 days ago for the EA client remains in effect.
