More primals than elements?

it isn't necessary for each primal to be associated with an element. there is also no reason to believe that each primal is restricted to any number of elements either. some of this may have been done for the sake of familiarity, but outside of the elemental based Primals, it is safe to assume that anything goes.

seeing as summoners can bring forth essence of the primals, it opens up a lot of possibilities for future summons for them. unfortunately, in 11, each summon had a strict association and the danger here is to use that as a template.

he was confirmed as not being a primal but yes he was summoned like primal, just like midgrossmrr but yea I would like to see him in a fate as well as his battle to come back

Aren't there countless primals? In the 1.0 intro the aetheric seal beneath Silvertear Falls was destroyed and the primals were released in all those streams of light, though we were only able to make out some of the known ones.

Think as others have stated, if enough belive in a deity in Eorzea, it will manifest itself in the aether. The Twelve seem to be like that too, and they are summonable according to Lahabrea who tried making the young Ala Mhigans summon Rhalgr.

Off topic, I think it's cool that the masked man is named Lahabrea after the light scion counterpart of the esper Mateus from FFXII.

There is no Shiva? What the heck? Finished The Stone Vigil and got the Ice Crystal. Why no Shiva? She is one of the coolest ones of all.

More primals are coming in Patches 2.X+. If I remember correctly, the Gigas are the ones that will summon Shiva, and I think we've only just released them from aeons stuck underground. Give the ascians time to get some "paragon" feet on the ground and she'll be showing up soon enough. It is kind of silly that you can get crystals of light from mobs strengthened by dark powers, but there's probably something to it that I'm just overlooking thus far.

I think the answer to your question might just be that it's not the crystal of light for ice, but a crystal of light for ice.
