The Lalafell come from an island-chain continent to the south. I think the Miqo'te are from the same islands but their islands were probably larger since they liked to hunt for their food while Lalafell liked to fish.

Aldenard, Othard, and Islabard are the 3-major continents of Hydaelyn. The Roegadyn have their fishing lands to the north (might be part of Islabard), the southern island chain continent (Lalafell and Miqo'te come from), and now the land to the west of Vylbrand where the Mamool Ja have come from.

Just to add a bit more information, the southern lands are ALSO the origin of arcanima, originally from... If... Memory serves me... Astrologists who discovered that the geometrical patterns used in their studies held power, which in turn led to shifting from astrology to directed arcanima studies.
