Legacy and Lore Question

I was curious as to whether or not as a Legacy player that they would finally recognize me as one of the adventurers they "lost"? Some insight would be nice. I have created a new character on another server with some friends and going through the storyline with him first before I do it with my legacy characters.

Once you get to the Sylph investigation and the quests that follow up around level 25, you might want to pop by the Waking Sands. There are a few NPCs in the room out the back that you might recall and will go great lengths to answering your question. At least implicitly answering it anyway.

I'll say no more at this point in the interest of avoiding spoilers, except for one thing...

Minfillia remembers you, possibly by virtue of the Echo's power.

Incoming huge spoilers! I'll put them in the spoiler tag but seriously this is a huge spoiler. Because one part is revealed at 3/4th of the storyline and the last part at end of it. To other legacy players, you won't be dissapointed.

Cid will eventually remember you once his memory comes back to him. And he'll go through somewhat great lengths to describe what the both of you did and even recalling the both of them flying towards Nael van Darnus.

After finishing the final instance. A white beam of light hits everyone and all the GC leaders. The light feels...seems familiar before they suddenly have their memories returned and remember you once more, as being the warrior of light that was with them at the battle of Cartenau. Thus returning everyone's memory of your character as they all cheer in joy for finally remembering our characters.

glad to hear it, but what I want to know the most is what heppend to the dude, also if you are counted as warrior of light you get pretty much this response from main characters "you ... erm.. have we met before? oh never mind" basically that you are recognised as lost adventurer.

The thing is, for a lot of npcs, this "you seem familiar to me" line is actually just a generic response they give to all adventurers, including new players, making it come across as just 'lumping all eggs in the one basket', and hence regarding both 1.0 and new characters both as The Warriors of Light (after all, if everyone in Eorzea is suffering from amnesia, whose to say a 'new' adventurer really is? They could have been struck down with amnesia themselves, were present at Carteneau and were cast down to the bottom again, like in the first Knights of the Old Republic.)

Or maybe I'm just desperately trying to give some story connection to my 1.0 character who got the 'Legacy story bug'.

Changing the subject slightly but still on Legacy, is there any lore explanation for the Legacy Chocobo? The description for the mount says 'five years and a realm-shattering Calamity later have not broken the bonds between you and your loyal steed.' seeming to suggest the player had this mount before the Calamity.

However, it's an entirely new mount - it's actually slightly smaller and slower than the Grand Company ones, and has an unusual saddle and barding. The fact it's feathers appear tinged black seems to suggest even more it was actually at Carteneau too with the player (it shares the 'Legacy mark' with the player as well on it's beak!).

I just got thinking about this when I was in game earlier riding it and just wondered if there is or will be a story connection to this mount.
