Kinda frustrating nobody wants a monk for their coil party. Especially when you're solo (not much friends).

Once people know MNKs can solo Silence and DPS people will take us more.

Nope they won't.

Monk is the least effective silencing class and the most likely to fail on it, it impacts your DPS, and greatly your TP. (not to mention learning to silence alone takes way longer than any other class too).

Bards have a much easier time silencing than us, and their DPS is unaffected, the tank or offtank has to be mindful of GCD, but still superior to monk and their role is either unaffected (offtanking) or so little it doesn't matter (tanking).

Having two melee classes can be a pain at Coil for some groups, thus when choosing between monk or dragoon, the most likely is that people wants dragoons because of the piercing debuff.

I'm not saying we can't do it, I'm running coil as monk with a dragoon and we're at turn 5, it's just a pain for us and a huge hit on our DPS, I can understand any pickup party or progressing group that is "sorry we only want the ideal setup" won't ever be wanting monks, or at least until it is on super farm-mode.

The first team ever who completed BCoB has a monk in it. I agree when you said Monk's silence is so hard to pull though.
