At least thats what im hoping anyways. Ill start working on fixing my hot bar to reflect this rotation tonight. Heres hoping i can enter the monk hood, the true brotherhood of FFXIV ^^

I'm actually currently at 476 skill speed putting me at a 2.01s GCD (with GL3) so I can afford to work True Strike in (in any cycle that doesn't include a non-form skill, as I mentioned). Current gear stat distribution doesn't allow for much lower than a 2s GCD (looking at an allagan/AF2 mix while maintaining ACC, you really don't gain much SS, mostly STR and Crit gains over melded HQ gryphon/DL mix), but SCH's fairy can help with that. I run into threat issues even without using True Strike frequently, even with well geared tanks because MNK is just strong when played at not-lazy skill levels. Threat not so much an issue on something like Titan where I have to move away every now and then, but fights in turn 2 and 4 it's something to be aware of.

As for hotbar, I keep my skills organized on hotbar by form. http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/3605/8heg.jpg I've since switched Mantra and Second Wind but otherwise the same.

It's not the potency on Crit, it's the average potency by taking into consideration the crit rate.

Hi all, I started a PGL because I really want to be a Monk. What classes more do I need to be able to become one? Is there a quest to lead you in that direction? Or do I just stop being PGL and start other class? And then?

As you can understand I am very new to this game. Hopefully someone can help me.

You need a level 30 pugilist and 15 lancer. Monk can also use abilities from Warriors.
Every 5 levels you get a class quest from the pugilist guild. At 30, you'll do the last one and then you'll see a new quest at the entrance to the pugilist guild which will lead you to becoming a monk.
You will not be able to do this quest if you don't have a lancer at level 15(at least).
Also, the monk soul is equipped (like a piece of armor) when you're pugilist. It's more of a specialization than a whole new class. If you level to 50 as a pugilist, then your monk level will be the same and vice versa.

Skill speed's usefulness is entirely dependent on the amount of bard tp songs you get and how often you have to aoe.
