Basically you get to 3rd stance, click this macro one, it casts demolish, and then click again and it casts touch of death, and now everytime you come to renew demolish on target, just click once, and then next demolish renew ToD again, pretty much 100% uptime on both, with 1 button.

I have been poking around the forums a lot picking up things here and there for when I do actually get to play once this 1017 nonsense is gone.

One thing I have noticed is that there is a lot of talk about dps among the damage dealing classes/ jobs. In these discussion people seem to believe that a MNK is on the bottom tier of damage and some even have supposed parsing data to "prove" it. Though since I did not see the fights I have no idea how well the MNK was using his rotations and positioning to know just how valid the numbers actually are. I want to ask, how does everyone here feel about how MNK preforms in dungeons through out the game?

I really like the class but I am worried that if we really are that low on the charts I may have a hard time finding groups end game, like how it was if you played dragoon back in 11. So much time spent in towns just LFG.

Pugs build damage - once you get all your buffs up and can maintain your rotations without adds distracting or without the boss moving away before you can keep greased lightning pugs will go from low-tier to high-tier in a matter of minutes.

At least that's what I've noticed. If you are good at getting your rotations down and moving through them with low enough skill-speed you can do great damage.

Monks are meant for sustained damage, if you do a good job managing your GL stacks even on add fights you can keep DPS high without suffering too much of a loss. The only time I really see a big loss is on a get out of bad mechanic at a bad time when it comes to refreshing GL stacks.

The problem lies in the fact that its not the monks damage that is in question its how the boss fights turn out and most of the time you will lose grease lightning on certain bosses and the stone vigil last boss fight comes to mind a lot.

Melee generally get screwed in raid content in lots of games, and in some even basic dungeons. You just kind of have to live with it.

High armor, lots of moving, deadly AoE. Bosses are usually not built to be melee friendly.

During boss battles i'm almost always 2° or 3° only behind the second tank (i'm talking about 8 man's raid), we deal really a lot of damage but is all about positioning and using the right rotation, if u'r not able to do that u'r dps will be low.

I hear all manner of horror stories about this or that dungeon, then I actually run it and everyone says "that was easy!"

The secret ingredient is monk. ;D

I literally just made this macro but man its even better. You can use it to cast ToD right off the back as well since you won't be in the right stance to cast Demolish it just cast ToD. It only cast Demolish when you're in Coeurl stance. Of course you want a full stack of GL before you cast your dots but you can wait then do it.

I also just made this one for AoE, it cast Arm of Destroyer when not in Coeurl stance. Once you are in Coeurl it cast Rockbreaker

    /ac "Rockbreaker" <t>
/ac "Arm of the Destroyer" <me>
