Could someone post a video showing how to maintain GL3 on Titan extreme? I know its not possible on Garuda Extreme due to placement (im always with off tank), and and on Ifrit Extreme the dashes pretty much force a reset. Eruptions also cause me on occasion to lose GL3, so if this is possible, that would be awesome to demonstrate also. i am always looking at ways to improve, so help a fellow monk out![]()

Mainly when phase transitions are going to happen, never use any off-cycle attack (including ToD). Also punch bombs during certain mechanics to progress the stance.
There's still some RNG depending on exactly how Titan transitions, but that approach can help maintain GL3 across a lot of transition scenarios. I don't run my Monk on EX, but on Titan HM I can keep up GL3 across all transitions with some luck, or over half with even poor luck/rng.
There is no RNG on transitions other than who's going to get targeted with Gaol, Landslide or Plumes. Phase transitions are base on his HP percentages, but a lot of times even if he dips below the HP% threshold he will still use and finish his move if you don't push him towards the next phase after a certain amount of time has passed from his last move. I hope that makes sense.
For example, if you don't get him below 55% within 5 seconds(this number is an estimate, I just know how long it takes) after the bombs explodes, he will use Gaol before he jumps. For the first jump, you either have to delay your skill a fraction of a second while he is performing the landslide if you know he dips below the HP% for him to jump up for the next phase. Or you can just run to the center right away so you can hit him with your next skill without waiting for him to run back to the tank. If you time it perfectly, you can even stand on the very edge and Shoulder Tackle to him before performaing the next GCD skill.

I will try to record and post videos as long as I can record a session without me being Gaoled, timing the skill right before jump takes some practice. Other than that, just attack the bombs when dodging landslide/bombs during bomb phases to keep GL3 up and use Shoulder Tackle wisely (before before heart phase). I use a /tenemy macro to help me target the nearest bomb and it's very helpful to target the nearest bomb while dodging the landslide and bomb explosions.

You're nitpicking the term RNG.
There is a randomness factor between fights and between groups on exactly when, during which mechanic, Titan actually goes invuln and jumps.
I've had transitions where Titan literally doesn't jump and just teleports to the middle. I've had transitions where Titan almost does his last action mechanic twice while invulnerable, making the transition last an excessively long time. I've had transitions where he goes invuln for like >5 seconds while finishing whatever he was doing.

Oblit is correct. He's not nitpicking the term RNG. It stands for "Random Number Generator". Phase transitions and Titan jumping is 100% completely predetermined. There is absolutely nothing "Random" about it.
The term "RNG" is often used in place of the word "Variance". It is a misnomer. Variance and RNG are completely different things and it's important not to confuse the two.
And when was the last time you heard anyone say "Variance"? I sure know I never have in regards to a mmo. RNG is a common place term used for a number of things, you guys are just trying to to "nitpick" the term.Oblit is correct. He's not nitpicking the term RNG. It stands for "Random Number Generator". Or just say Random? The word is already in there. Whats the point of saying 'Number Generator'?
You could argue that there is some RNG involved in the dps numbers which can lead to titan not always transitioning phases at the same points *gasp*
RNG is a common place phrase in regard of video games. You can use any word you want, if you wish, however it does not change the fact that if someone says RNG, you know what they are talking about. You can argue that RNG is simpler to say than "Random".
RNG is pretty much a meme now a days, you may not like it, but it is, and it represents randomness in a lot of different forms.
