Fixing Legacy Characters Story

We are going to need a much more fleshed out explanation from the Devs to even attempt to clear out the biggest plot hole in the history of video games (That I know of). Five years is quite a blaring plot hole that kind of screws over the story towards the beginning.

Somehow it sounds like this is a somewhat recent decision.

I feel like SaintAjora in that this sounds like a recent decision as well, I can't find any official material created or sent by Square Enix that stated that Legacy would have to fulfill a set of (hidden) requirements in order to get a Legacy story. I guess my only remaining question for the Square Enix team would be why this was hidden from us, and why the community wasn't told much earlier in advance, or if this was a recent decision, what brought about the sudden change.

Assuming that the same amount of information was presented to both NA/EU and JPN players, I'm sure there are those on our sister servers that are as disappointed as we are about having prerequisites hidden from us.

I'm bummed like all the others, but I guess it gives me time to play on my Taru (er Lalafell) healer for now. I'll hold out on the *hope* that this is still a glitch, that Enix is just overworked right now with all the other bugs and glitches, and that we'll be addressed properly in due time.

Tbh, I kinda wish they didn't give people who didn't clear the storyline the tattoo. It makes it seem like they were somehow special, going along w/ the whole 'Warriors of Light' bit. =\

Now that I know that my legacy character isn't really a "legacy character"- well, I dunno, the tattoo feels rather pointless. -_-;

I dunno, I find it a bit unfair but that's my disappointment talking mostly.

The legacy cutscenes toward the end of the game wouldn't make sense if you didn't beat certain bosses in 1.0, which is why they probably did it this way.

Here is a solution for everyone:

If you completed the 7th umbral storyline, the last mission required you to pray at various prayer stones throughout the world. In the End of an Era cutscene, Louisoix harnesses the power of the prayer stones to trap Bahamut but it fails. In a last ditch effort, Louisoix harnesses the power of the prayer stones to send various adventurers 5 years into the future. We need to assume that 1.0 players that did not reach the point of the storyline where they prayed at the prayer stones; were never sent 5 years into the future.

We know that everyone who was not sent into the future had their memories wiped. Thus, we need to assume that 5 years go by, and those who never completed the 7th umbral storyline arrive at their respective starting capitals with absolutely no memory of the previous adventures they partook in during 1.0. Tragic? Sure. But it makes sense.

While the plot theories are interesting right now the one thing I'd really like explained is why this requirement wasn't mentioned either at the time or at any point when numerous players were submitting bug reports about it.

Eh... No it doesn't. The only thing about the memories that were wiped were the names and faces of the warriors of light. Everyone clearly remembers the calamity and should have easily recognized the adventures whom were not affected by Louisoix's spell.

Because I couldn't bear to continue a character that had been not only forgotten by the npcs I did so much for previously but also SE, I decided to use a phial of fantasia and have a sex change. And now it makes perfect sense why nobody recognises me! (I used to be a guy!).

But I don't bring it up because that would be awkward.

Got a friend just like SetsunaDragneel. He finished all storyline quests and has a Dalamud horn to boot. He wandered into the game with a 2.0 opening.

Same here I have not got any different CS, some of the people do say that I feel familiar, however no one recognizes me as yet. I did finish the story and be van darnus. My opening CS was the boat.
